Villain is a borderline maniac, I think 60/20 and aggro. He will call with a ton of cards in small pots but fold a lot in medium pots to raises, and he'll bet at weakness most times but not every time. When he does he always follows through on the turn/river with pot sized bets. He keeps his bluffs consistent with made hands though, and does tricky stuff (once cold call me pf with KK, then checked behind a low flop...).

I am like 25/18, and showed down a float to villain once so I don't think he sees me as too weak-tight.

Flop: 8 5 J ($24, 3 players)
SB checks, BB bets $19, Hero folds, SB calls.

Turn: 5 ($62, 2 players)
SB checks, BB bets $45, SB calls.

River: 3 ($152, 2 players)

I think I shoulda raised the flop in this last one even though it gets him to fold a bluff. Not really sure of the other two.

Hand 1 is definitely a shitty flop for you. I dont *mind* your check/fold, because finding out if your good is going to be expensive and not worth the fight.

Hand 2, umm. Bad. Bad bad bad. Reraise the turn either 3-4x or just push it. I'm cool felting it on the turn. If he has a flush you have 10 outs, if he has a pair+redraw you're ahead. As played, you HAVE to call this river.

Hand 3 is fine.
<Staxalax> Honestly, #flopturnriver is the one thing that has improved my game the most.

#2 was like the worst possible turn card. So I pay QT or 2 spades off because of his image? I didn't push the turn since he prob folds a semi bluff, but maybe not. Then I only really beat a bluff on the river...but I guess it is likely enough, and maybe he played a set or 2pr weird, arg

Does anybody like a cbet "bluff" in #1? I don't think he'd call it without an ace (at least hope not), but would bet if checked to with any 2 and continue on the turn/river.

Unless you put him squarely on AA/AK I think you should cbet this a large percentage of the time.
Success is how high you bounce after hitting bottom.

Now that I calculate it, even a min raise on the turn in #2 pot comits me if he pushes...which might not be bad since he's comitted to call with a combo draw. Still not sure what is optimal though...

In 1 and 3 I think it's worth betting/raising at least one of them, maybe both, purely to see where I'm at...even though I hate doing that, it seems like the best move against this guy.
