I had been playing this guy for a while without making any headway. He didn't seem great by any means, pretty passive both preflop and post flop. Most of the pots just involved me raising pre and cbetting a flop and either taking the pot down there or giving up if called. These hands happened in the order I have them posted here.

Notes I made on him include:
c/c flop, pot lead turn with TPGK
tight 3betting range
very passive

Hand 1)
Not much had happened in the game up to this point. I was just pounding on him with pf raises and cbets and he usually just called or folded. Firstly I should have sized my turn bet better so I could shove the river for less then a PSB. Only hands I could put him on when he shoved the river were KQ/89/TJ so I folded. Anyone think this is a call?

I decided not to cbet the flop here because I don't like to get too mental with my cbetting frequencies. Especially against passive guys who like to call a lot. I know there are better hands to check behind with but whatever. Turn hits my hand and he leads into me. I think my raise was a big mistake here because my pair isn't exactly the best and if he's leading with a draw then he's already priced himself out. Also it turns my hand face up and nullifies my positional advantage more so than a call. Once he shoves I think I should fold because my hand is face up and because he's pretty passive.

Hand 3)
I think the flop raise is fine in this spot. I get value from lots of weaker top pair hands. Same with the turn bet, I don't think he calls my flop raise with 67 so I still have the best hand a lot. I found it very hard to put him on a hand that beats me on the river except for T6s or T7s. I dont feel that AT takes this line for some reason. Hows my reasoning?

 How often is he folding to cbets? It's not that clear, as you say he likes to call but you also say when he called your cbets you were giving up which seems to imply that when he called he had something.

Hand 1: This just doesn't make much sense at all, the way he played out the hand makes me feel like he was afraid of a 4th card coming out for the straight, and wanted to play low variance. Still, I agree this really doesn't make too much sense as a bluff either but I call because I don't feel like i can make a very good assesment of what he has.

Hand 2: Pretty clear fold. I play rest the same.

Hand 3: Another pretty clear fold.

 I think you destroyed all the value of your hand on hand 3 by raising the flop.

It just comes down to the fact that there is no hand he can have that didn't have sd value, so unless he wants to turn a made hand into a bluff he's not bluffing. Nor is this a spot where people like to bluff.


I agree with max though i like a flop flat.

 I call hand 1 and fold 2/3. Raising the turn in 2 is meh but your raise size is awful. Raising so much there is suicidal given how weak and face-up your hand is.
My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.
