Fold in my opinion.
I wouldn't be suprised if he has 2 jacks and expects the lower house to pay him, or am I too scared of monsters?

He claimed to have JJ, I thought he was full of shit, but after watching him play for another hour he was probably telling the truth. I stared at it for a second, mainly just weirded out, but I wasn't calling that amount with 99.

This was my gut reaction as well, but I think that the flop c-m-r could often be a PP between 33-88 as well, and the price is right so you have to call with position. I would probably call if he ~pots the river after checking the turn, too.

I think you played it ok, although I wouldn't even think about calling river.
