UTG checks, MP bets $1, Hero raises to $3.85, UTG folds, MP calls $2.85.

Pre-flop I would consider a re-raise.

I usually always check behind on the turn, your hands so marginal your not really betting for value and there aren't any draws on the board you'll usually get more money from a 26/18 because they bluff the river

Pretty standard fold. Check that turn next time. Also, against most villains calling the flop is usually better than raising.

I like raising the flop most of the time when villain underbets the pot like this.

I like raising the flop too. Checking the turn is mandatory though, unless Villain is a huge donkey who likes to call down with middle pair and stuff.
