givememyleg (t1395)
SB (t1335)
BB (t1550)
UTG (t980)
MP (t6125)
CO (t2115)

Preflop: givememyleg is Button with 9, 9.
1 fold, MP raises to t120, 1 fold, givememyleg calls t120, 2 folds.

Flop: (t285) 3, 7, J (2 players)
MP bets t60, givememyleg calls t60.

Turn: (t405) J (2 players)
MP bets t90, givememyleg calls t90.

River: (t585) A (2 players)
MP bets t1050, givememyleg folds.

Final Pot: t1635

MP has aquired his stack by winning 3 allins. He was behind in 2 of them. Since he has gotten such a massive stack, he started playing "I am going to raise every hand" poker. I don't want to reraise preflop yet, because the blinds are still small to my stack and I have him calling with pretty much any 2. That being said, would it have been better to raise the flop or turn? I honestly can't even put a range on this guy, his flop % is over 50%, and he has seriously raised about 9 of the last 10 hands. He called a reraise of AI with JQ. This guy is a maniac and I was looking to just showdown this hand.

I probably should have raised the turn, eh?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (2 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Button (t1400)
givememyleg (t1600)

Preflop: givememyleg is BB with K, K.
Button calls t10, givememyleg raises to t80, Button calls t60.

Flop: (t160) 5, J, T (2 players)
givememyleg bets t100, Button calls t100.

Turn: (t360) 3 (2 players)
givememyleg bets t100, Button raises to t200, givememyleg calls t100.

River: (t760) K (2 players)
givememyleg checks, Button bets t1000, givememyleg folds.

Final Pot: t1760

This is one of the tighetest folds I have made heads up, but something just didn't feel right... conversation:

givememyleg: checks
villian: bets 1000
givememyleg said, "you serious??"
givememyleg said, "i have KKK"
villian said, "then call!"
givememyleg: folds

We had been playing for only about 7 mins or so, but he had a style where he liked to call with big hands and raise on the river.

After looking back at this I think 95% of the time it is an easy call, but when stacks are so deep heads up, and I am confident about my playing ability, and something is fishy about a hand... I lay big ones down. Was I just down right stupid to fold here?

I have a feeling 90% of the people that look at this are going to say "bad lay down."

EDIT - Should I have pushed the turn? This hand is driving me crazy.

Hand 1: Yeah I was thinking raise him on the flop/turn, doubt it matters which. I guess I raise the flop as another overcard on the turn hurts.

How would you say he'd act if you bet into him after the flop.

-if he calls,Jack or non spade on the turn id fire again, then check/fold down.Take the impetus on betting maybe.

-if he RR I fold.

hmm i think betting into him may provide more info if he doesnt RR with Air.

Hand 2: MAyb bet more on the flop, meh its HU so you dont need to worry bout flushes to much.

i think the rest of your betting pattern shows weakness........

very small turn bet!! why? represnt a flush?? seems weak, Id put in 225-250. if he push Im out.

His minraise pisses me off, I hate them. Easy call and see what he does on the river.

If he had pushed and any card beside your K came you would fold. The K didnt help your situation at all, nothing is any clearer now.

I wouldnt make a confused call here, your not crippled either stack wise.

As for your edit: psuh turn, nah bet bigger

Why do you want him to call, if he calls then theirs a good chance your beat!!!
If he hadnt of pushed river I woudnt bet coz callers will beat you and fold if they dont. Something fishy in villian play

Missed his flush draw?? He went allin against a flop bet,a turn bet-call by legs.He defo has something and smells of a flush.

the fact you caught your King is irrelevant. Only puts you further ahead of pairs.
2 pairs and sets would take control of the betting to defend the flush/str8 draws. PLus they try showdown for cheap given the turn card.

I put villian on flush or AIR (more power to him).

Hmm until you said that I didn't even notice my small turn bet... I have no idea why I bet 100 on the turn now that I think of it. I should have put it to around 300 or so.

The min raise is what threw me off... it said, hey call this please.

This is exactly what I thought also.... Either I was beat or he made a big big bluff.

No I'm not kidding.

His turn raise is either really fishy or shows strength. As goat said, I am only getting called her by a better hand most of the time.. I didn't think this guy is a total donk and wouldn't call AI with a hand like J9 or something stupid.

I couldn't have known a K was coming on the river when betting was on the turn.

EDIT - I guess just the fact that I could call and lose if I am wrong, or fold and keep playing makes me fold here. Sure there is a chance I have the best hand. But there is a chance he did flush out, or hell even straight out since I didn't bet or raise the turn. If I fold here I can get his chips later.

I take it he didnt show when you folded? I put him on a Ace of hearts without another heart if hes drawing. If I had the nut flush on the turn, the pot is so small that you couldnt build it nice without someone noticing something. If he started to play raise every hand poker its very possible he limped A Q to swtich his game up since he had position trying to let you be the aggressor because of your PF raise. I see your point on folding and waiting, the only awesome part of your hand is that you were in control the entire hand. You kept the pot within reason... You minimized your loss if you did lose to a showdown. To me, thats a greater accomplishment in itself. You didnt go building a crazy huge pot with K K like some would. So kudos to you for laying this one down. Its not like you lost a bunch of chips.

2nd hand :

flop bet isnt enough; pot it or make it close to the pot. i dont know why you decided to take the weak lead on the turn, it sorta opened yourself up to a river bluff. if you look at the way you played postflop and forget your hole cards, I think we can agree that it SEEMS like you have a terribly weak hand. I f I were playing against you I dont think I could even put you on top pair. because of how weak you played the hand and because the river is a little scary for top or middle pair (opening up a nice bluffing opportunity), I think id have to call. his minraise on the turn still seems weak, so he could have been semibluffing with a pair and 1 heart. Q9 could be possible but I wouldnt worry too much about the made flush bc your most likely facing a more callable river bet in the face of a (supposedly) scary river king AND because of how weak you played

i like checking the river though*
