Villain here claimed that he folded 99 on QQx board when I checkraised him. I think a good line here is to check call turn and check fold river. I think that by doing this, I gain more information than by leading the turn. If he checks behind on the turn, I check call river. What do you think? Betting here makes no sense.
This might be an example of check calling for information. I don't think he will double barrell bluff me here.

I must say i dont know your flop image, but given the description of your opponent the flop raise is really bad. I don't think this opponent ever calls much with worse besides a fd, so tbh c/f may be the best option.
I don't know this for sure though so I probably do c/c, c/f. But I really just c/c the flop or lead.

But what about paying him for drawing to the flush? I would check call turn and check fold river because I don't believe he would double barrell without a flush here.
Would you really take that passive line? TPWK, just check call flop? It might be the right play, but it goes against my general style.

Poker is all about ranges, by raising the flop from a strictly range perspective, what you do is turn his range into something that was somewhat weak into now something way ahead of you (besides a fd). A fd is only a small part of his range, he probably flopped a draw here 10% of the time, Most of the time he doesn't have one.
By just c/c the flop we add actual value to the hand besides just a hand we're making him pay a draw with. A lot the turn goes c/c and we lead the river and he calls with midpair. Or maybe he two barrels air, at the very least he's making himself two barrel his draw, so he makes himself pay for his flush draw anyways!
In the long run as you start moving up, your just going to get eaten up with midpair and bottom pair when you c/c the flop. Good players realize ur raising all your top pairs and blowing the pot out of control so when they have a better kicker or better than that, they are going to milk out almost your entire stack because you can't fold it from the pot odds they give to you.

Ty for nice explanation. But if I had a nine here, I would usually checkraise also, so this is not so predictable, right?

Right... but im not even sure about c/r a 9 here, it's very close to just c/r air. If the board was more vunerable than i do c/r midpair sometimes but most of the time its more valuable to not overplay a 9 and a Q with a bad kicker here. If you're c/r something like 70% of flops then in the flow of that match a c/r with even a 9 and a good kicker could be for value. Here you said opp was folding pretty tightly to your check raises so I suggest that if you normally c/r a 9 I'd begin to c/c it versus this opponent.
IMO I don't really have a default play in HU, everything is so opponent dependant (I'm sure you know this).
