I have been really trying to improve my HU play and have been watching a lot of the pros play at the nosebleeds. Main thing i figured was loosening up BIG TIME. Seems to be working well, but wud like some feedback on this hand.
Villain was an unknown, this was our 5th hand.
Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (2 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com
SB ($50.45)
Hero (Button) ($69)
Preflop: Hero is Button with 8 , 5
Hero raises to $1.50, SB calls $1
Flop: ($3) 5 , Q , 3 (2 players)
SB bets $1, Hero calls $1
Turn: ($5) 8 (2 players)
SB bets $1.50, Hero raises to $5, SB calls $3.50
River: ($15) 6 (2 players)
SB bets $42.95 (All-In), Hero calls $42.95
Total pot: $100.90 | Rake: $1.5
Any thoughts?

watching the pros is a bad idea for now
you dont always see their cards and you play nowhere near as good as them postflop
as for the hand, heh I guess I call b/c both fd's missed

Agreed with spenda.
You have to know why they play the way they are and you have to understand they play differently according to opponents. I think you can raise BU 100% and adjust if need be at 50nl for now though.

^^^^ This
But well played, call river. You just don't have enough info to make this fold against a 50nl player.

if V had Q i think betting would have been harder, maybe had a pair on the flop to justify calling your raise.. but would they call $5 with a pair of 5's or 3's with 6 kicker? what was the outcome of this hand???

I think call. Maybe he have toppair with topkicker and you win with your two pair. Its risky but you got to try this.

I have a hard time giving him a range there. Maybe 66, 56.
I don't think it's a fold. There are a lot of massive donks @50NL HU.
Although most of them only ever shove the river for value and not as a bluff. I would not expect total air here a lot... I guess very badly slowplayed QK, AQ, QQ-AA is more likely.
Is there anything worth mentioning from the previous hands?

I doubt you are good often on this river shove. Check back flop for pot control, and I would fold river unless opp is super aggro
