Villain is rather good TAG 19/16/5. 3bets a bunch (like 9%). I'm not really sure what his frequencies are after checking the flop as the preflop reraiser. I fold to a lot of 3bets, probably 70%.

$2/$4 No Limit Holdem
5 players
Converted at weaktight.com

Stacks:
UTG ($347.37)
CO ($1153.79)
Hero ($394.00)
SB ($441.00)
BB ($1007.45)

Pre-flop: ($6, 5 players) Hero is BTN
2 folds, Hero raises to $11.50, SB raises to $44, 1 fold, Hero calls $32.50

Flop: ($92, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks

I didn't really want to bet here because essentially it only protects me from getting 6 outed or bluffed on the turn and I really have no clue what it means for him to check after reraising. He could easily be going for a check/shove. I guess this is a pretty good flop for cbetting for him which also makes taking a stab worse.

Turn: ($92, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $40,

At this point I figured his range was made up of 2 main things. Firstly he could have just given up on the pot and secondly he could be pot-controlling a ten or some other weak made hand which he plans to check/call with. I bet small because I want to try and get value from AK/AQ/ or 88 or something. I don't believe he is folding a ten unless I pot it or something. This bet also gives me cheap information I guess. (whether or not I can use that info correctly is another matter as we'll see).

SB raises to $349, Hero calls $309

When he shoved I felt really compelled to call just because his line didn't make much sense. I was pretty sure that he was capable of checking a strong made hand on the flop but I would imagine that he would lead the turn with those hands so I don't just check to showdown. I also thought that I could have induced a bluff from him because of my bet size. He could be thinking that I have nothing and I just want to steal the pot as cheaply as possible and decide to rebluff me.

Stacks:
UTG ($402.50)
CO ($426.90)
Hero ($543.60)
SB ($745.75)
BB ($454.50)

Pre-flop: ($6, 5 players) Hero is BTN
1 fold, CO raises to $14, Hero raises to $48, SB calls $46, 1 fold, CO calls $34

The CO is a loose TAG 27/21/4.6. He seemed solid from the short time I'd been playing with him. I'd been 3betting him a good bit in position. The SB is a drooler 41/6/1.4. This was the third time he had cold called a 3bet from me in about a half hour. All of the other times I missed on a bad flop and I ended up having to fold. I don't think he is necessarily hugely strong here.

Flop: ($148, 3 players)
SB checks, CO checks, Hero checks

I decide to check behind because my hand isn't a monster and I would like to see another street of action before I decide to commit.

Turn: ($148, 3 players)
SB checks, CO checks, Hero bets $55,

Once they all check to me I decide my hand is good here most of the time and I decide to bet for value.

SB folds, CO raises to $210,

I assumed that given the flop action he would have bet the turn with any strong hands in his range so I found it pretty difficult to put him on a strong hand. I also think my line looks pretty weak since I checked the flop behind when it was 3 way. Hence I though there had to be a lot of bluffs in his range and I decided not to fold.

Hero goes all-in $440.60

I don't like the call in hand 1, I tend to bet bigger to avoid difficult decisions there.

I like hand 2 better, but I think you need to bet/fold that flop.

I like hand 1 up till the river but id then fold as surely he realises his line looks majorly bluffy and weird and if hes a good player hell realise that and hell know you know that to, though i guess theres a strong chance as you checked the turn he puts you on a hand like the one you have and will have a tough time calling the river nonethless. Its close either way.

hand 2 i agree with fnord in that you should bet/fold flop as your now playing guessing games on that turn with a hand that isnt that strong.

Also the fish in the hand gives your flop bet a lot of credibility that you lost on the turn.

1). idk if a good TAG reg at 400NL, when he decides to rebluff, is going to check/shove when it's quite an overbet. i'd expect something like a c/r to 130. This overrides my desire to call due to his bizarre line.

2). i like checking the flop. i'd hate to bet/fold a pair of queens 100bb deep in a 3bet pot, so if i can't bet/call then i'd check like you did.

the turn seems like a great time to use a gaybet since we aren't valuing our TPGK in this spot as a nut hand. it makes bluffing much more profitable and probably frustrates weak/average regulars trying to figure out how to play against it. against someone who isn't going to make spewy plays facing the bet i'd rather bet 100 or so on the turn and then reevaluate.

I like 1.. only problem is if he'd slowplay JJ/TT here..

I dont like 2, I feel like he'd be much more likely to lead a hand like a turned flush draw here, so imo you're toast 68 or 77 more often than bluffs/FD
Nine to five is how to survive - I ain't trying to survive / I'm trying to live it to the limit and love it a lot //

I agree with both of these hands.

I'm putting him JJ because of his awkward check. I'm guessing he was trying to slow play, hoping you'd hit the flop? I feel like he'd bet out AK or AQ.

The $55 bet looks like a weak attempt from you to take down the pot (1/3rd of the pot roughly?) So he may be putting you on a bluff, and be fed up with you trying to steal his pots. I like the call, even though it is a hard one to make.
