Assume 100bb stacks in both cases...

I open UTG+1 to $2 w/JTs in a 6 handed game and a decent small blind calls, we go HU to the flop.

Flop is T 8 4r w/one of my suit
check, bet $3, call

Turn is an Ace not giving me a flush draw
check, check or bet?

Situation #2
I open UTG to $2 w/QTss in a 6 handed game and a decent cutoff calls, we go HU to the flop.

Flop is Th 8x 4h
I bet $3.50, he raises to $11 ($7.50 more to me)

Check behind on turn because everything you beat will fold and everything that beats you will call or raise.
Call a reasonable river bet.
If checked to on river, make a value bet, about 1/2 pot, hoping to get called by an 8.

that one is hard. That's also one of the reasons why playing SC's from EP is hard and it could be a reason to fold it PF in that position.
As played, I'll fold. That could be weak though, especially since a backdoor flush is alsostill present.
A call is defendable, but it makes us c/f the turn if we do not improve.
Leading a blank turn would be a nice move and so would reraising the flop. Those are usually bluffs/semibluffs though, but you're representing an overpair then and could get villain of a better T, especially when followed up on the river. Could be spewing.

#1 read/image dependant spot. without reads or an image i check behind half the time and bet the other half. if i´ve been cbetting a lot i tend to check behind more, since A high calls a lot of flops.

#2 unless CO plays his draws this aggro i fold this all the time. what hands do we beat? I dont see A8/JT playing this way often enought to make a call profitable. To avoid spots like this, i dont like ep raises with easily dominated hands.

1. turn check is pretty std as A8, A4 just pulled ahead and the only hand u get value from is T9... the only reason i would bet is if I had been double barreling every big scare card (which is a frequent occurence) and expected to get called by 8x, 99, T9 and maybe worse. Though usually you should just check/check and/or vbet a blank river.

2. I think in most passive 50nl games this is a fold, but I wouldn't dream of folding this ever.
