-This was my first hand ever vs villain
-I've obv heard of him before.. from 2+2 etc, so I can get some reads from that, but we have no history
-I'm not sure if the fact that I opened UTG lets me add in a certain amount of JJ/AK type hands that make this a fold?..

Flop: ($34, 2 players)
Hero bets $22, BTN raises to $56, Hero calls $34

Argoe plays like 20 tables or something so and plays very robotic, so I wouldn't really expect him to do anything tricky, like, at all. I'd probly call turn then c/c non heart rivers and c/f heart rivers unless something else about his timing or bet sizing stands out.
I'm assuming he just 3bets AK preflop, though he can have AJ and QT

I'd fold to the flop raise. Such a terrible board for him to bluff raise. I think you're only ahead of KhTh.

agree with zook. I don't see a solid 20 tabler bluff raising this board so I fold pretty easily on flop. Plus, he's on the button. Soooo many 2p combos, q10, or pair+draw or draws we're flipping with.
id be less concerned with the top of his range than the middle that can be so many broadway combos

The flop raise is barely more than a minraise and he has a gutshot to the nuts as well as a backdoor flush draw. I think I'd call the flop and check-fold the turn unimproved, partly because I'd expect this guy to usually check behind his missed combination draws on the turn.

red is nitty and bad postflop so i would go ahead and fold flop. he's not raising KJ or AJ here so your equity against his range is pretty low

My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.

yep essentially this...
Especially lately because I think he has actually increased the amt of tables hes been playing and is really nitting it up in spots like this even more so than he did in the past
Fold the flop and definitely the turn

Also.. doesn't a good thinking player know that after I c/c the turn that my hand here is almost always AQ or AT and maybe sometimes a crappy KJ or something?
I'm surprised by some comments regarding villain here about his nittiness. Maybe I caught him during tilt.. but he was "only" 12 tabling on stars and he was playing VERYYY aggro.. more specifically preflop. 4bet shoving all over the place.. etc.. not sure if this is standard for him?
In any case... I didn't know any of that at the time of this hand.

Are you guys suggesting a flop fold because his range is heavily weighted towards Q-T?

he gets in moods where he gets it in w/ anything pre but he rarely spews postflop especially in weird spots to bluff like this

i talked to griffey about this hand and I was probably biased by prior comments from Lukie about redargoe being super tough postflop despite playing a million tables so maybe my advice was way off (esp since ppl who have played more w him recently seem to think he s nitty in this spot).

when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?
