Villain is ok, a little nitty I think. I 3 bet him a few times and he folded.

Meant to raise more pre but nearly timed out.

I check turn for pot control and cuz I feel uneasy.

Any info on UTG? 3betting here isn't standard for me.

Bet turn and river yourself to stack Tx and get value from draws. As played c/rai.

UTG was a donk who kept minbetting. I am essentially treating it as a limp.

This is such a great board for someone to float sice a lot of your 3 bet/squeeze range bricked this flop. Since you said he's ok he probably knows this and thinks he can take it on most turns. Ok players arent usually calling 3bets with A5 so he most likely didnt improve on the turn. He hasn't given you a reason to think you're beat, so bet turn, c/c river to most action.

He's kinda nitty and I don't think he has an 10X hands in his range, maybe A10. If he has A10 I think he checks it back almost always on the turn. I think he has sets and AdXd in his range and thats about it. Maybe QQ on occasion but very unlikely.

There's been way too many hands posted lately where people check the turn with awesome hands. Maybe you guys should move down for a bit if it frightens you so much when a simple cbet gets called.

I feel like betting the turn has got to be better than checking, but I guess since you checked I'd check-shove since AK has a wheel draw and maybe he could put you on that.

THEN WHY ARE YOU CHECKING. You just said it yourself that you can't get value from worse hands by checking.

I said I check turn for pot control. Hands that I am ahead of usually check back turn and maybe call river bets. If I get it in on this board I feel im almost never ahead. He's not aggro and I don;t think he is shipping FDs. I don't think its a big mistake to give him a free river since he can have like only 3 or 4 FD combos.

But yeah, I post a trouble hand and maybe I should move down thanks.

I said think about moving down because you "felt uneasy." It's tough to win money if you're playing scared with hands this strong.

I mean if you really think he's only betting sets and Axdd then fold but it's hard to fathom that a player that passive would be shoving the turn with anything you beat either, so just bet $24 on the turn and I guess fold if he raises, shove most rivers if he calls.

If we do make it to the river, i don't think there is too much value in shoving...imo unimproved A10, 55-99 get off the hook enough along with FD's

How bad is checking to induce, since his calling range is going to be pretty tight?

I'm not always uneasy when my cbets get called. This happens to be a 3 bet pot against a nit. I think he's very rarely floating and I was uneasy in this particular spot in this particular hand against this particular villain.

What was your plan if you got 4-bet pre?

I think he usually folds to my 3 bet pre. Was pretty surprised he called. I think he's liek never gonna 4 bet me. If UTG 4 bets I'd get it in. And a Cbet is pretty necessary here and I expected him to fold to it as well w most fo his range.

Depending on his percentage of calling 3bet pre your play will of course be different but usually I find people just calling with almost any hand on a low flop in this situation hoping you will show weakness on turn (considering you may very well have Ax, Kx, low pockets in your 3bet range). So it might as well be a steal, hence push or fold is only options and I would probably push.

Why did you not do this with 72o then if all you want from this hand is for the guy to fold?

The guy flatted the original minraise, I didn't think he'd call a 3 bet most of the time. I thought UTG was more likely to call but he folded. I guess I could have done this w ATC as a squeeze but its nice to have good equity when I do get called.

I totally misread the preflop action, I still bet the turn though.
