I'm at school right now, so the details of this hand might be a little off.
Villain in the hand is a 19/17/4 Tagg. I've been decently active isolating some limper on my right, not too out of line though and this player has 3bet me a couple times from the blinds. I've folded to all of them previous to this one.
100NL at Party Poker
Villain has something like $130-140 and I cover
I open to $4 from the cutoff with :Kh: :Qh:, fold around to villain in the sb who makes it $14. I call.
Flop comes
villain bets $18 into $27 and I float.
turn brings the and villain bets 1/3 the pot (?!) with something like $80 behind.
Also at the time of the hand I didn't realize, but villain has a really high turn AF.
I would like to hear what you think about:
1) preflop
2) shoving flop vs floating
3) wtf does his turn bet mean

This play is a lot more fun on Axx boards with a pair in the hole, gutshot or something else going for you.

Ace high board is definitly better to pull this on. You pretty much have to give up here because villains not folding much hes doubling with besides air. Idk what the 1/3 psb means but it makes me think hes encouraging a push here unless hes really terrible.

Very well could be tipping off his hand strength here.

ummm, i think your preflop play is really bad. you will only get into trouble flatting a 3bet w/ this hand at these stakes. even if you think he's 3betting u light ... if you think you're ahead of his range, the play is to 4bet. calling here just plain sucks.

I'm not sure if floating is necessarily > shoving. This depends on how aggressive villain is.
If he's gonna barrel on you and you have no choice but to fold your K high then I'd say folding > shoving > floating.
Shoving can get folds from aces as well as some mid pairs.

I dont find a lot of barreling by taggs at these stakes. There are very few that do it with air in my experience. I definitely agree with you if this tagg will barrel frequently though.

I assume your shutting down almost entirely postflop (even on K or Q high boards) unless a flush or straight comes. It seems like it turns our hand into a bluff and diminishes its value... I don't know I leak a ton in 3bet pots.

Given villains high turn AF I think shoving is better than floating. Still not sure if folding is better than shoving. I'll think about that some more...
