Well as I try to improve and try to play back more at regs, I came across this hand... Earlier in the session I stacked off to villian in a 3b pot with 99 (it was probably spew, but for some reason today I decided to try some things out...) so he saw he risk a whole stack kinda lightly in a 3bet pot earlier... also iirc we had a hand where I 3bet him and I think he 4bet and I folded....
So what about this bluff though? would it be more viable if the board was not paired? or did hero just make a good hero call? I'm guessing maybe this bluff would have been better if earlier in the session I hadn't shown to spew?
I do not usually play like this, but I'm trying to mix up play so that I can better own the regs at my limit...

This is a really bad board to bluff him off anything. All you're repping is sets and quads. If you're doing this because you think he's full of shit then just call him down.

Call turn, check/fold river.
Really no reason to get crazy here.

This is pokerstars isn't it? To save yourself money don't bluff uncreative nits. And yeah bluffing when you already have a bad image is pretty bad unless you are playing against somebody who will think that you know its a bad time to bluff and won't do it as a result. Unlikely he thinks that at this level.
Oh one last thing why are you bluffing with second pair? You have a semi viable bluff catcher why not play it accordingly.

I've played against him too. You're in pretty rough shape when he bets the turn.

because I know he has an overpair, so I'm trying to get him off his overpair...
if this is a bad board then what would a good board be?

Anything wet and coordinated, thus any overpair will be scared of sets, 2 pair and straights, on this board what is he scared of bar 2 hands that flopped sets and a very unlikely 2x?
