UTG is some fish, MP is 17/15/5.1 (3b) nit
we're oop so flatting seems kind of retarded, folding seems nitty, and 4bing seems like I'll just be getting it in bad

UTG ($38.35)
MP ($135)
CO ($230.20)
Button ($58.50)

UTG bets $3.50, MP raises to $12, 2 folds, Hero raises to $25, 2 folds, MP raises to $135 (All-In), Hero calls $80 (All-In)

I kind of assumed he was, although since he's a nit chances are he just raises the same range because he has like 12 tables open.

although i hate doing it, given reads this seems like a trivial fold.

I certainly wouldn't cold 4bet and then fold. So as played, I guess this is fine.

The question is if we should be cold 4betting a nit in the first place. Especially when he's 3betting and UTG open. I think this mostly depends on his ability to isolate a fish light.

I don't hate cold calling the MP's 3bet sometimes, as it also keeps the fish in the pot.

i should have qualified my original post. i think i fold pre instead of cold 4betting here is an easy decision. whether calling or folding is better with the fish left to act is the only decision vs the described villain.

if you have a lot of hands on him, you can look at his positional 3bet stats, which can be telling. Some people almost never 3bet from MP, some do it surprisingly often. I don't really mind folding or calling, depending on your feel of the fish and MP.
