SB is 14/11 over large sample and seems pretty nitty in general although he likes to 4b light (irrelevant for this hand). I over-limped because CO was a fish [27/5 (25 hands)] who would stack off with tpwk in limped pots (how I got my stack) and was probably folding a lot to an iso raise.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (5 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

BB ($100)
UTG ($110.95)
MP ($100)
Hero (Button) ($199.70)
SB ($100)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 7, 8
1 fold, MP calls $1, Hero calls $1, SB calls $0.50, BB checks

Flop: ($4) 8, 8, 4 (4 players)
SB bets $3, 1 fold, MP calls $3, Hero calls $3

Turn: ($13) A (3 players)
SB bets $10, MP calls $10, Hero calls $10

River: ($43) 7 (3 players)
SB bets $25, 1 fold, Hero raises to $185.70 (All-In),

I'm wondering whether I should have raised at any point before the river.

SB's range on the flop is {8x, 44, flush draws, bluffs} imo and CO's range for calling flop is {any pocket pair, any two overs, any fd, 4x, 8x}.

On the turn, SB's range is much the same, he might have picked up top pair, but we can eliminate his bluffs.

The river's kind of strange because I don't really see him vbetting Ahxh but I just sucked out on any 8x except A8 and 44 so clear shove right?

The thing that gets me about this hand is that I have such a clear understanding of my opp's range and yet I still can't think of a good argument for the way I played it or any alternatives (raising flop or turn). In the moment I guess I just thought I didn't want to get coolered for my whole stack by a nit in a limped pot.

Thanks.

EDIT: One more question, if the river is a 3 just call yes?

I would just call if I didn't fill up. I don't see any other way to play it. You're behind 1 hand he can put you on a fd and call with worse.

I'd just fold preflop.

I'd raise PF, taking down 2.5bbs with a hand like this is a fine result.
Just playing to improve.

I feel this is absolutely fine. And I'd probably just call if the river bricks yeah.
