SB is a fish, I've seen him limp or raise A4o and A7o UTG. I really want to isolate him. No really constructive reads on BB.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

CO ($24.45)
Button ($142.85)
SB ($19.60)
BB ($108.10)
Hero ($54.55)
MP ($27.15)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A, K.
Hero raises to $2, 1 fold, CO calls $2, 1 fold, SB calls $1.75, BB raises to $8, Hero goes for the felt....

I think it's really bad. You say sb is bad but is he really calling of $17 more after 3 raises are put into the pot. Plus against unknown players in the blinds I tend to just give them credit for actually having a hand after reraising from the blinds. Just IMO of course, and I'm a newbie.

SB may be bad, but Im not all that worried about him, Im worried about the BB. A typical TAG is going to have a 3bet range from the blinds that you are going to be at best a coinflip; however with the dead money I think a push is profitable. If he calls with 99 the deadmoney makes up for the odds, its going to be marginal though. We are way behind AA/KK, but its much more likely he has another hand without an ace or a king. By pushing there is also a good chance we are folding hands like 99-JJ, etc.

So yea, the BB is probably raising strong, I still think its +EV. I wouldnt really look at it like an isolation play because most of the EV is coming from the folds.

Why are we discussing the SB? He is of little consequence at this point, it's the BB who we should be worried about. With that said, this push is pretty terrible IMO against most players. If he has been reraising a lot then it's fine, but not against your average low stake player RR from the blinds.

If they are reraising say 99+,AKx is it unprofitable? If thats "all" they are reraising with [not saying its too tight because thats about my range] then wouldnt it be profitable to push? They probably are folding AKx hands, and often hands like 99-JJ. Now, Im not great in figuring out probability of hands in a range and then figuring out the EV, but I think if we are getting them to fold the more likely better hands [99-JJ are more likely than KK or AA] or split hands then we are gaining a lot by this and the only hand we are really hopeless against is AA.

I very well could be wrong, but in my head it doesnt sound that horrible. Its a hand Id like to have some idea of a 3bet range from the blinds for BB as that could change a lot, but readless I dont think it would be horrible.
