I have no read on opposition as this is only my 2nd orbit. Initially I thought that this is standard and an easy decision but the longer I think about it the more I would like to know what you guys think? Without reads and in position I often call with AK now as 4-betting on Ongame is pretty rare.

Folding preflop is not weak here.
We have 10 outs if we're lucky IMO, most of the time i think we're drawing to a TJQ flop... :P

Even against a range of AA,KK, or a set of Jacks you still have 37% equity, which is a tiny amount more than you need.
So I call as his range could definitely be wider than that, in which case its definitely a call.

flop is an insta call, and what miffed said...if he has a QQ+/AK range, then pushing is better than calling. if it's QQ+ then just fold. i dont get calling.

If you're too chicken shit to gamble here, you're playing too big and/or too deep.

No I was not folding and I instacalled but I posted this hand because two friends told me that I should have folded which I found quite peculiar.

I have started to sometimes call with AK in position after being 3-bet. The jury is still out if this is a good move.

snap call. calling here is fine in position, isnt it? Do we always 4bet AK in these spots? AKs only?

i dont see an advantage for having position with just a pot bet left. villain has the advantage of being the first to bet on the flop.

so are you just hoping to hit the flop...or what's with calling AK to a 4bet with 100bb?

I have noticed that many people nowadays just call 3-bets with AA/KK and AK is just 4-betting/push. For 100bb there is not much you can do despite getting all the money in there when you hit the board in any way. I often tend to play AK like Aces and had good success so far. I am still not quite sure if its a good strategy.

However, I am offsetting this by 4-betting light if I have been "caught" calling 3-bets with AK.
