This guy has hit 'raise' instantly after your raise.
In my experience this means they think they have you beat.
I may be inclined to fold this.
Or call and see what he does on turn, could be ak...
I don't understand why you aren't betting the turn here with a good hand. I would have bet $30 here.
Besides this is the fact that he's played passively, and you say he is loose.
He could have...
If you're at a shorthanded table of 5 people with opponents who:
1) are almost guaranteed to be worse than you
2) buy-in for the minimum up to 60bbs
Would you buy-in for 60 blinds too or 100,...
if i had AK, i'd like to say i'd think that:
because i:
1)re-raise preflop
2) check the flop and
3) call the turn bet
the villain probably suspects i have an ace, and knowing this, then...
the only ones i can see cost 6400 fpps... are these the same?
and if you win a ticket to a sunday million tourney can you cash it in for the money value?
Essentially theres only 2 poker hands 96 and 9J beating you on that turn. Theres no way im calling a raise out of fear of 2 poker hands instead of going all in.
Agree that raising more pf basically...
Ok, im in a pickle and need some advice.
The poker site im at (Everest Poker) has FROZEN my account. This means i cannot play and i cannot cash out (though im gonna try just to see).
The reason...
Im usually a ring game player but tonight i tried a multi-table tourney.. with devastating effect..
Im at the final table of a rather large prized tourney and im sitting 2nd in chips with 8 players...
Ok i know you've probably had a million and one of these, but i feel i still need clarification on the best strategy here.
The options i've thought of are:
1. Play it passively (hoping he bets...

with this many outs (14?) and a pot bet on the flop being 10.5 bb.. you'd be left with about 85 bb on the turn if you check/call. How many times will one of your outs hit on the turn? 1 in4, 1 in 5...
So against good players you bet to induce a raise on the flop, if you think the standard play wont work.
Against crap players you can still check, check-raise and they'll probably not be able to...
how big a leak would it be if you posted from UTG+1 onwards every time
you've limited his options to either a call or a fold. This is great because if he folds, and its a decent hand, you win that fairly juicy pot. If he calls you've still got like probably at least 11...
say you called a raise with a suited connector and flop a draw.
Not a huge draw just either a open ended or a flush draw.
Lets also say its against AA-TT and AK-AJ everytime. If you just went all...
you have to know if the guy is capable of folding JJ-QQ and AK etc, and maybe even kings.
The raise is like 38 and he's only got 260 behind him so he's not got the odds for a set hunt on the flop....
unfortunately the next time i raise its with AK and the flop is again K22
:p
Full table.
Crap player calls UTG
Tight player calls in mp1 with KQ (maybe suited, who cares)
two more callers
You are on the button with KJ-KT, raise the pot. KQ folds here, crap player with...
thanks for the reply but we've kinda wandered from my original intended topic. This was to find out about and discuss the strategy used by capable players, such as fnord perhaps, to beat capable...
boo you cant fold right here!
there is a possiblity that some dude raised with TT-KK and and AJ/AQ/AK/Any ace other than A7 or A4 called but maybe you dont make enough money for all the trouble of...
maybe lol, maybe i have difficulty laying down hands that i know are beat by these players in general.
Its everest poker, great site, im one of those who's built from nothing using their free...
Ok so you learn poker the regular way, you give the fish bad odds, you bet the ranch with your hands when you have them, you maximise your value against the worst players.
Now though, im starting...
if you're ahead then bet!!
Now you dont know if he's got something like KQ-KT on the turn!
And you also dont know if he hit a monster!
On the other hand you can call the bet, and this might be...
i gotta agree with underminedsk he's making sense. Guy could be bluffing right at you with cack, make them tell the truth about their hand whether they like it or not!
