It's problem.
They usually look something like this:

Not the first time I beat it, but this is the one I did in the fewest moves:

he also has lots of crap that is folding, or will have worse equity should he call
lol
Blah, I didn't notice this guy was so short. Disregard.
The point I wanted to get to was that there might be merit in check/floating villains like this, even if their range is super narrow.
How (if at all) would you guys play this hand differently if we had 33 instead of AK?
Don't beat yourself up over it, and don't be too embarrassed to post hands or ask questions.
I still post "lol standard" hands and ask obvious questions in IRC, and sometimes I feel dumb doing so....
b/c the flop is not okay imo.
I don't know why you say you have no idea about his pf range. Use the information available to you. Every indication is that he's a huge nit. Don't assume otherwise...
GUYS, I just followed that link and it gave me a virus! Be careful!

Gotcha.
I think "dead money" is just a poor and easily misunderstood term. Money in the pot is never truly dead unless villain folds to bets 100% of the time. If we just scrapped the phrase...

That is kind of a bad example though, I think. A better one would be where hero has 30-40% equity. In the above example, it's so close to 50% that you pretty much just need villain to fold a...
Just stop looking at EV graphs, period.

One interesting point made there:

Since I horribly derailed the last thread concerning IRC (sorry about that), this might be a good place to repost some of the good strat discussions that take place in there from time to time.
<profnabeshin_> So do you guys know phil ivey?
<SrslySirius> never heard of him
<profnabeshin_> Does he chat in here sometimes?
<SrslySirius> is he a batman villain?
<profnabeshin_> You're stupid...
Yeah for sure. It's already earned me several hundred fuckpounds.
I'm pretty sure you're wrong about this. Just for fun, maybe I'll try asking to have it changed to grny, which is very similar. I'm confident that it will be rejected.
Care to wager? I'll give you...
Meh, I give up. If the admins say no, then I see no reason to pursue it further.
So? That doesn't garner favor with the powers that be at FTR, does it?
That podcast was posted today, btw. :D
lol wat. It's a messageboard, there are no rights.
Name changes are a privilege, and I think it's reserved for more well-known/connected people such as Bickles.
Request denied, ldo.
Standard reason, same as it was years ago. Once you let one guy do it, everybody wants a name change.
Alright, I just gave that a shot. I do know that they got sick of name change requests several years ago, so I'm not entirely optimistic. But we'll see.
I'm trying to look into this. It's not an easy thing to get done.
