Default Ultimate Gaming to Bid Farewell to New Jersey Market

    Source: USA Today Article

Ultimate Gaming announced Friday that the company is ending its online gaming operations in the state of New Jersey (it will continue operations in Nevada).

For our New Jersey forum members and out-of-jurisdiction FTR posters who have been keeping up with the Garden State regulated online poker market, you're aware that Ultimate Poker's monthly revenues were FAR behind those of its two competitors--Borgata/partypoker & WSOP.com/888.

Players in general seemed to approve of the site's online poker software as well as some of the overlays that were commonplace in the New Jersey site's guaranteed events.

Ultimate Gaming's NJ partner, the Trump Taj Mahal, is reportedly on the verge of bankruptcy while several land-based casinos in the Garden State (mainly Atlantic City) have been struggling for quite some time.

This will leave one less competitor (albeit a very small one when it comes to NJ market share) for Amaya Gaming's PokerStars to go up against once the site officially launches in upcoming weeks.

I saw that headline. Borgata and Caesars are the winners so far on the poker side.

Oh my God, William Reynolds is making some interesting tweets today at https://twitter.com/ReynoldsXO

    Here are some:
Best part about this UP rant: They are so unaware about their client/website that every tweet I make still appears on http://ultimatepoker.com
The 2005 http://pokerroom.com website that you could run thru your browser with out downloading is still more advanced than @UltimatePoker
1 year ago I showcased all of flaws on @UltimatePoker client to entire software team-In next 2 months they changed decks from #blue to #red
No surprise to see @UltimatePoker pull out of NJ.. They care more about YouTube videos that @dustiniannotti buys fake views for than poker

Wow... my impression from player feedback was that the client, albeit quirky, received a significant improvement in its most recent update.

That's wild that his Tweets are still showing up on their website.

Ultimate Poker announced that they are leaving the Nevada market.

It is too bad they made so many mistakes including software.

As Adam Small tweeted, post #43 of the http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29...l#post45238846 thread is a scathing indictment.

yeah seems like they put way too much emphasis on being the first site to deal a hand instead of releasing a solid product.

I really enjoyed Terrence Chan's candid post-mortem of Ultimate Poker.

Lots of interesting insight from someone who gives a first-hand account of the company's shortfalls. The part about executive salaries (starts at 14:10) is very up front.
