FTR OFC turbo-ment!

Time for the next Open Face Chinese Tournament at FTR!

The tournament will be held on Sunday, November 24 at 3:00 PM ET.
We expect the entire tournament to be finished by no later 6:00 PM ET on that day.

There is no buy-in, the following prize will be awarded:
1st Place: an FTR hat

The games will be played here: http://www.flopturnriver.com/chinese-poker/ (You must be logged into the forum to participate.)

This is a different format than the previous tournaments. Each round is timed, with each player's timer ticking ONLY during their turn, the same as a chess clock.

Each stage of the tournament will last no longer than 1 hour (probably closer to 45 minutes). This should provide plenty of time for breaks, as each match of 10 rounds is expected to take ~30 minutes.

• Reply to this thread by Saturday, November 23 23:59 ET if you're interested in joining the tournament. You will be added to the list of players.
• On Sunday, November 24, I will reply with the bracket (matches will be created using random.org) and add the tournaments in the lobby. These will be labeled [R1T1] OFC turbo-ment, [R1T2] OFC turbo-ment, etc..
• All matches will be heads up.
• You will be PM'd your table assignment and password for each round.
• You must immediately play your match.
• You will have a 2-minute chess-clock timer for each round.
• Failure to complete your round before your timer runs out will result in a foul.
• There is no timer between games. You are encouraged to use this time to take any short breaks, if needed.
• Once all matches are complete in any stage of the tournament the next stage will begin.
• All matches will last for 10 rounds. Whoever has the highest overall total points at the end of 10 rounds advances to the next round of the tournament.
• If the final round results in a player getting Fantasy Land, another round will be played. This will repeat until neither player has FL.
• If the final round results in a tie, another round will be played. This will repeat until the tie is broken.
• Single elimination.
• Upon completion of your match, reply to the thread with the results.
• Once the first round is done, the next round will begin. This will continue until there is a single winner.
• The tournament will be run from start to finish, lasting ~2 - 3 hours.

All round 1 matches must be started between 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM ET on Sunday, November 24.
Round 1 will end no later than 4:00 PM ET that day.

If any matches are not completed in the allotted time, I will choose the winner of the match based on the following:
1) the player who is not absent wins
2) the player with the higher score wins
3) the player who last held the lead wins
4) the first to score a point wins

Round 2 will start immediately after Round 1, etc.

In the effort to keep it simple, I have dropped out as well.

There are 4 players, the bracket is posted. Tournament starts in just over 1 hour.
