display of pineapple hand histories

Our current summary version is cool but it is sometimes hard to play back in my mind. Is it good enough or should we also have a button/option for a frame by frame version? Should we also have a button/frame for a hand re-player?


In this hand I'm thinking maybe I should have set that ace from the 2nd draw mid instead of the pair of eights.

REPLAYER OPTION


Sorry, can't show you an example of this right now. If we build it then we would have limited options if it is an animated gif but if it goes to an archive page then we could have options for the number of seconds between each frame.

I've gotten so used to the current system that I basically "replay" a hand in my head as I look at the history, but I think newcomers would have a much easier time with the replay option. The frame-by-frame option seems cumbersome to me because it just takes too much space.

A few months back I asked for a more thorough report at the top of the history page, and that would be more helpful to me than either of the proposed changes. Here's a link to the thread where I suggested some new stats to add:

I know there is a "My Stats" page, and that's nice, but it looks at a player's entire history on the site rather than at a single session. Furthermore, I think my stat of FLP is a more useful way of looking at a player's FL % and my FHP is a more useful way of looking at a player's fouling %.

You're right, the stats page is more about one's entire history.

I agree it will be helpful to add session specific stats - especially as players experiment with different playing styles in different sessions. Alex is super busy right now though so if it doesn't get added right away it's not because I think it's unimportant.

yeah I think the frame by frame is too much, i see myself just scrolling to the bottom to see the final result.

animated gif could be interesting if it doesn't take too long to show the hand. not sure if it would work well without pause/previous/next buttons, but could work out if the timing was right.
