PokerStars Weekly News Update 7/16/2012
1. The 2012 MicroMillions II is well underway. For those unfamiliar with the tournament series, it is 100+ events of micro/low buy-in tournaments with huge fields and large prize pools. For example, just earlier today a $5.50 tournament awarded a $6,441 first place prize to eventul winner "oskaart". The score could have been even bigger had the final three players not agreed upon a chip chop. You can find all the Micro Million events in the PokerStars tournament lobby.
2. PokerStars Team Pro Jan Heitmann is still alive in the 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event. The German poker pro currently sits in 17th place out of the remaining 27 players. He needs to just outlast one more player to mark the deepest run of any Team PokerStars Pro ever in the WSOP Main Event.
3. For those still wondering about PokerStars purchasing FullTilt, well the current standing has never been more ambiguous. Reports surfaced this past week that PS was pulling out of the deal, and had reportedly only create one to block FTP from coming back into the poker market. It's hard to blame PokerStars, without FullTilt around, they will easily remain the consensus #1 overall online poker site.
