PartyPoker has caused some problems with my computer. I have been advised by a friend of mine (who is very good with computers, unlike myself) to completely delete it off my computer, and to make sure to get rid of all traces of it in my windows registry. I have read through a previous thread which mentions the "UCID" file. I found it and deleted it, but I have heard that there are other files in the Windows registry that PartyPoker puts on your computer. Does anyone know what these files are and where they are located? I really need to fix my computer. Any and all help is appreciated greatly.

i have taken many courses through microsofts certification courses and party poker is not the soul problem on your computer. i play on party poker and have no problems at all. i should have asked first but have already assumed taht you use microsofts internet explorer as your internet browsing program. in my internet security class the teacher first taught us taht microsoft has little to no effective security therefore you are at risk of being infected by spyware / adware / trojans / and thousands of popups while using internet explorer. i at first did not believe this so i put it to the test...i set up my second computer, freshly formated w/ all microsofts new updates and partypoker and sure enough after a few weeks of basic everyday browsing (no porn, though those sites are notorious for infections, how ironic ) i was infested w/ spyware and other infections. ran my virus program, completely removed party poker ran adware 6.0 and spybot and still had problems. now on my primary computer i set up a freshly formated drive w/ all the microsoft security updates and party poker just as before BUT this time i downloaded mozilla which is a modified netscape browser and have not had a problem to date (approx 4 weeks)....i recommend downloading the programs int he links below and running them once or twice a week depending on your browsing habits. party poker does bring up a red flag on some spyware programs but adware and spybot leave it go and i nvr have a popup or any other problems when using mozilla as my default browser.
Adware
Spybot
once installed both programs will give you the option to update, choose to do so and then run both on your computer....clear our your cookie files / temp internet files / and run your anti virus program. run windows update and download all critical and recomended updates. once thats done download Mozilla and install that and then select it as your default browser...that "should" fix everything but all my testings were done from fresh installs of windows so if the infections of spyware and adware worm deep into your registry you may consider reformatting and then following my steps.
hope this helps

Thanks Bones, I appreciate that. I may take your suggested course of action, but for the time being, I am still interested to know all the files that PartyPoker puts on your computer. If anyone knows (or can direct me to some place that I can find out) please let me know. Thanks.

You probably know this already but:
go start > run and type regedit.
from there you can go edit>find
then type in poker or partypoker
then press find next and you can delete the registry keys one by one
just check the filename to make sure its partypoker
akthough it may store files under other names of course.

Although its probably not Partypoker causing your computer to screw up, trying the things bones said is a very good start.
the surefire way to fry the nasties is to format everything, i do this occasioanlly. its fine as long as you way to backup your data... such as a dvd burner or a mass storage USB thing. otherwise..yea.
Adaware, Spybot and Mozilla are great. Dont know what youre virus protection is but that should always be upgraded. a good free virus scanner i use is called AVG www.avg.com i think.

AVG is a very good virus protection...i personally us norton antivirus and just keep it updated...i only run that once a week...i also do disk cleanup once a week and a defrag once a month...if you run a normal routine of virus scans / adware / spybot / and defrags your system will stay top notch much longer than normal.
