Just a question I was wondering. Pokerstars is based out of Costa Rica, which worried me when sending a credit card #. Any help would be great.

I believe the bulk of the Stars operation is located in Costa Rica.
None of the poker sites are US based simply because online gaming, with the exception of lottery in a handful of states, is against the law in the US.

online poker/gambling in the us is illegal point blank period some states you might be able to work though the loop holes in the system but that costs money, and the income they make would be taxed hard by the U.S. government since there are some pollutions that want to make it a federal offence to gamble online inside the us... for example pay pal will charge any user that deposits to and online gambling site since the pollutions persuaded them to do such a thing, they are a us based company, those why neteller came along, it's Canadian based, my visa has restrictions on the placeless I can use it I can't straight deposit to online sites and I can't deposit to neteller either forcing my to get a MasterCard. I hope this explains it a little more, it's a simple political game that we are caught in the middle of the battle between the ass tight conservatives and the gamblers... Which ever way you look at it I’m positive that you can save/make more per year outside the us legal or not, it's a business decision at the lowest level.
