I loved it while I was there. I switched back to party tho cuz I realized I am more profitable at ring than tourny. And the ring at party is way softer.

Exactly. And exactly what Prozack said, too. Prompt, fair, brisk software, no popups, tricks, crap. I hardly ever play there anymore, but it's where I started, and no one else quite measures up (for me) in look/feel/trust. But those are my glasses.
I don't play there more often because of the stupid sweatshirts. Really, I keep depositing for the bonuses, stack them up and leave them for a rainy day. Then I cleared them before NewYears while Stars was offering double points.

1. Quality customer support, a hell of a lot better than anywhere else.
2. Biggest variety of MTT and SnG buyins and structures, which inevitably leads to the best tournament structure, as there is so much choice, so one will definitely be perfect for you.
3. Quickest expanding poker site - their player numbers are now growing a hell of a lot quicker than Party's are, they are almost on the brink of overtaking Party in player numbers.
4. The poker room manager, Lee Jones, actually acknowledges, responds, and acts upon any feedback or suggestions given.
5. Chris Moneymaker plays there.

Basically once you work out the FPP system and VPP's all it is hidden rakeback and it is sexy.

The FPP program just recently launched, so I'm not familiar with it.
But generally, rule of thumb? Point programs aren't giving anything away. Every bonus I choose to play for pays more cash back than any of the point program prizes.
The Nano on PStars, if played at silver level works out to 1 penny per FPP -- so 10,400 hands raked $1, OR 2700 $10+1 SNG's. Ten thousand raked hands (just a .31e rake) on the B2B network can earn you $1000, or 7 Ipod Nanos.
I'm sure it does well reward high level players, as some have figured out, but even at supernova level, it only amounts to 20% rakeback in the tourneys and 12.5% rakeback in the cashgames.

The FPP/VIP system is nice, I don't think it is the deciding factor in any serious player's decision to play on Stars though. Since Stars doesn't offer any type of rakeback, it's the next best thing to it. It's by no means comparable to a decent rakeback program though. I'd play on Stars even if they didn't have it, so I just view it more as a perk for doing something I would be doing anyways.
If you're intrigued by the items you can get under Stars' VIP program then you should wait around a little longer for Party to get their store up. Supposedly they're going to start offering things like mp3 players, better clothing, etc. Again though, if you were getting rakeback at an other site than Stars you'd be making enough to just buy those things yourself.
Stars is far superior to all the other sites in many other areas. People are playing there because of that and not so much because of their reward program.
