Supernova VIP status gives a huge boost to the frequent-player-point multiplier and also gives players access to the $1500 bonus for 100,000 FPPs. It also grants access to special “Milestone” bonuses which can be worth as much as $10,000, so I decided to set off to figure out what the value is of Supernova status in various playing situations, since PokerStars has this bonus system in place instead of rakeback like most other sites have.
I needed some base parameters, so I chose 100nl and 200nl as the two stakes I would make calculations for, and I decided to figure out the value for players putting in 25 hours per week and 40 hours per week. Here are my findings:
Stakes, Hours/week: $1500 Value + Milestone Value* = Total Value, Hourly Rate
100nl, 25 hours/week: $21000 + $6000 = $27000, $20.77/hour
100nl, 40 hours/week: $34500 + $11000 = $45500, $21.88/hour
200nl, 25 hours/week: $31500 + $11000 = $42500, $32.69/hour
200nl, 40 hours/week: $49500 + $18500 = $68000, $32.69/hour
* The Milestone Value isn't the sum of the Milestone Bonuses, it's the sum of the Milestone Bonuses minus the value of the FPPs used for them so that a given set of 100k FPPs isn't used for two Milestone Bonuses AND a $1500 bonus.
If this doesn't make sense, ignore it, just know the above figures are correct for the VPP/FPP values in the chart in my signature for 12-tabling full ring.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

FWIW, I just chose this because it's what I play and thought I'd share my calculation with board.
