I have been playing at PokerStars' play money tables for a long time now, and I've been doing rather well, so I decided it's time to deposit $50 and see what I can do at some low stakes.
Late Friday night, I tried to deposit money using Instant echecks, but it's now 2 business days later, and I still have no credit to my account. I have a Chase checking account that is definitely in good standing, and my credit is great. Should I expect issues since I live in the US? Are there any recommendations for the best (preferably fee-free) way to deposit money as a US player?
Also, I should probably note that I have received no e-mails whatsoever about the transaction, and that I was a little drunk when I made it. Is there a possibility that I simply didn't put it through properly?

I deposited about a month ago to Pokerstars as a U.S. player. I used my Mastercard debit card which works fine for deposits (yet not withdrawals oddly enough) and it's free. But I think that's hit and miss as far as what your bank allows. I wish lawmakers would make it legal again, this is just bogus and uneffective.

I'd be quite happy to try again with a debit card, or even with eChecks again, but how can I be sure that the original transaction isn't still being processed? Is there somewhere that I can look this up?

well you can always just withdraw the extra $50 if you get charged twice

Well, I just tried my Chase debit card and "Your deposit has been declined by your financial institution." There was a popup window where I could have someone call me "ASAP (within the next 20 minutes)", so I chose that. Even at 3 am EST, I got a call less than 5 minutes after my request. Talk about great customer service!
Anyways, the gentleman verified that the problem was due to Internet Gambling restrictions and suggested that I use Instant echecks. So I tried it once more, and it went through instantly. Apparently I either screwed up in my drunken state and incorrectly entered the information, or I did not want to give my SSN and simply chose not to go through with it.
Whatever the case may be, I now have $50 in my account that will be matched after I get 500 FPPs. As an added bonus, the gentleman helping me gave me bonus code "MDM" which is identical to "First2008" except that I also get 5 free tickets to some Sunday tournament, so that was pretty cool.
Overall I'm quite happy with PokerStars, although I can't say the same for Chase and the US in general.

Good deal. Yeah I'm not too happy with the illegality of online poker right now either. Hopefully it'll be changed in the near future.
