Evening all.

I'm a relative newbie to online poker.. I deposited $50 in ultimatebet with my debit card a few weeks ago, and with my considerable skill I have built my balance up to just over $60. I think I would like to withdraw my initial $50, but since I'm in the US, I'm having trouble finding an online service to do it.

I called UB customer support and was told that the only way for a US player to make a free withdrawal was with epassporte, but that you must make a deposit with epassporte before you can withdraw to epassporte. Dude tells me I can make a $50 deposit with epassporte and then immediately withdraw $100, putting me right where I wanted to be. This makes me nervous ("Oh, sure we'll give you back your $50. Just give us another $50 first and we'll get right on it...")

My questions:

1) Am I just going to get screwed anyway? If so, that's fine, I'll call it a lesson learned and write off the money in my UB account, but I'd like to know before I throw another $50 at it.

2) Has anyone done this before? How did it work for you?

3) Is there another site besides UB that has a little easier (and free-er) process for US players to withdraw?

4) (optional bonus question) Does it seem kind of sketchy that when you sign up they show you about a million ways to deposit and never make mention of how difficult it is for a US player to withdraw?

Maybe I should just give up on online poker and drive to the Indian casino...

Thanks in advance for your help.

epassport doesn't screw you. but it will automatically take $5 out of your deposit every time you make one, and takes a week for deposits to go through.

I will make a guess that if you withdraw the 50 dollars you will probably be redepositing within a few days, but you need to set up an epassporte account anyway if you want to continue playing poker online.

Yah, if you're going to continue playing poker online, you will probably need an epass account. You have to jump through a few hoops to get it set up. The load fees are on the steep side ($25 per $500). But just deposit the minimum to avoid the fees. Withdrawaling from UB to Epass doesn't cost you anything.

OR: Just keep playing at UB. It sounds like you have a small bankroll, and would benefit from sticking to a familiar site. Grind that $50 up to $250 and then worry about it. (?)

Epass is safe, and won't screw you. Many, many, many of us have it.
