Hi all,
Any gambling tek-whizzkids out there who can help me with the following problem?
On most computers I have used (e.g. in internet cafes) when I connect to UB I get the following message:
"IT COULD LOOK BETTER. You are using large fonts. Do you want to change them?"
The next symptom is that when I go to the lobby, the font size is too small and rather difficult to read.
Also, when I actually sit down at a UB table I can't see the whole screen view. This means that I can't read chat as it's happening (the chat box is chopped in half) and, more importantly, I can no longer use mini-view because the button has been chopped off!
I've just bought a new computer and I'm having the same problem. I have tried pretty much everything I can think of in and around the Display~Properties~Settings~Advanced boxes with no success.
Is this a Windows XP specific glitch? Now that I come to think about it, I think that most (if not all) of the computers I have had problems with have been running XP. Also, I just tried loading UB onto an office computer that's running Windows 98 and there is absolutely no problem; I can see the whole screen view. Here's the interesting thing: both the office computer and my computer have their DPI set at the same value (96 DPI) but the Windows 98 office computer calls this "Small" whereas XP calls it "Normal".
I've already tried Member Services but for the first time they were not much help.
Any solutions out there?

It sounds like your screen resolution is to small. Adjust this to at least 800 by 600. To change the font sizes if you have a wheel mouse. Keep Control pressed and mouse up / down to find the size you want.
Hope this helps .

Thanks for the reply, Toasty.
My screen rez is actually 1280 x 800.
I've tried lower settings but with no success.

So no-one out there has had the same problem?
Wow. I feel alone.
If anyone knows of another forum out there that might be of help, I'd be grateful if you could let me know.
Thanks.

I'm running the UB client on Windows XP Pro with no problems. I doubt it's the operating system.

They did have a problem with their software and Win2K server, but it has been fixed in the current version. The problem was: I could login to their site, but no tables would open.
I have not had any problems on XP.

Hey yggdrasil. Did you get your name from a general knowledge of norse mythology or from playing "secret of mana" on super nintendo. That was one of my favorite games of all time and if I remember correctly the name of the tree in there was yggdrasil.

General knowledge of Norse mythology. I'm not much of a gamer.
