So I recently saw a deal on "Ultimatebet.com/bluff" where if you sign up for a new account, put in promo code SUB2BLUFF and make a deposit of at least $100 then you get a free years subscription to Bluff Magazine.
I normally play on Bodog and Full Tilt and decided to give Ultimate Bet a try especially due to the free year subscription to Bluff since living on the East Coast now I cant just pick it up when Im at the casino anymore. So I signed up, enjoyed the action at a cash game until a guy caught Quad 9s and beat out my K high straight. I then played in a tournament last night and really enjoyed the software so I was going to reload more money and play some higher stakes but I never received an email or anything about the magazine. So just out of curiosity I emailed Cashier@ultimatebet.com and asked what I need to do.
They emailed me back and said that I had clicked on a banner and the banner would not be fulfilled. I replied to tell the guy, Manny, that his very own website at "ultimatebet.com/bluff" had stated the offer very clear and that I enjoyed the software but because of the bait and switch and horrible customer service that I would continue playing elsewhere!
UB is nice software and the action was fun but a stupid magazine worth only like $20 bucks can make your customer service department look pretty low.
Guess Ive made up my mind to stick to Bodog and Full tilt...
Anyone else have any interesting stories about Poker sites?

Nobody gets to complain here about UB. If you don't know why there is no sympathy for UB/AP users on this site then try searching "scandal". You get what you get. I suggest from now on, everyone post here on FTR before downloading anything that has to do with poker, including bonus offers, free software offers and poker sites for play. I would even hisitate before depositing for the first time on Stars, FT or Party because of the potential of lost revenue for the sake of a quick grab. Some have lost thousands of dollars for some quick freebies.

I dont think I was looking for sympathy. Im pretty sure everyone in the poker community knows about the UB "scandal" without having to look it up. My post had nothing to do with poor software issues and nothing to do with losing thousands of dollars. It was a simple problem with the customer service of UB and the fact that their site offers a free Subscription to Bluff and they didnt honor it.
Their response was to put blame on me for clicking a banner to get to the offer and not clearing my cookies before loading the software. However I never clicked any banners, I saw the offer at www.ultimatebet.com/bluff and downloaded the software directly from that site. They didnt fulfill their offer, and although their software was pleasant, their customer service is ridiculously poor and I am suggesting no one play there again!
Obviously someone should hesitate before depositing large sums of money to any pokers site but I never stated that I was an amateur to the online poker community. If you didnt like the fact that I was stating a warning to fellow users of FTR, then go write something you think people would like to hear about rather than try to insult my intelligence and insult my post!

An update to this topic...Ultimate Bet still was not friendly nor helpful but after contacting Bluff about the idiocracy going on at UB, a guy named Eric Morris, Co-President of Bluff Media, contacted me and hooked me up and set things straight. Thanks Bluff and Thanks to Eric!
