I had a party poker account but i cashed out all of the money and havent played there in a little while, yet when i tried to sign up for pokernow and empire poker they said that i cant because of my account on partypoker. Is there any way to get rid of that account so i can play on one of these two?

If you do a search for "regedit" one of those threads tells you what to do. I`d post a link but as this is my first post i don`t know how.

FTR has instructions on how to have accounts on both Party and Empire. The link is at the bottom of every page on this site. The key is that you have to sign up for the Empire account from a computer w a different IP address.

I have had the same trouble. I also tried from my lap top and had no success. If I was to take my laptop to someone elses house and log onto my dial-up account (using their phone line) would this work? Would that give me adifferent ip address or is there another way to bypass this?

The ideal way is to use the link from a different computer at a different IP address, and use a different email address when you register. Then, you're golden.
So what you do is go to your friend's place. Use his computer. Visit FTR. Click on the Empire link. Download the client, install on your friend's computer, set up your login name and password. Use a different email address if possible when registering. When you're done, uninstall EmpirePoker and go home.
At home, download EmpirePoker, install, and just login. You're set.

But doesnt the email address have to be the same if you are going to use such depositing methods as Neteller?
I've got 5 accounts on 5 different Party skins, all using the same email address. You just have to delete the registry key and create your account on a new comp. Its pretty simple.

I had the same problem with Eurobet and that turned out to be the registry key. So I did what AllinLife said -
1)Click on start, then Run. In that window that pops up, type in REGEDIT and click ok.
2)In the Registry Editor window, on the lefthand side, go to these folders :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SOFTWARE
CALCULATOR
MODE
In that MODE folder, on the righthand side, there will be a field called UCID. Right-click on UCID and delete.
3)Restart computer
This worked for me, and it only takes a minute.
