When I run Microsoft anti-spyware, it consistently comes up with a bug called "trojan.backdoor.small.fb" (if I remember correctly). I did a little research and it seems possibly related to Party Poker--like the anti-virus software is interpreting a PP app as spyware. Anybody else run into this?

Renton will become famous soon enough
nope.

I would tread carefully if i were you. Can the anyspyware remove it? I would try that and just reinstall PP if it screws it up.

Yes, the anti-spyware removes it, then it comes back after a day or two. I'm gonna start tracking when it pops up in relation to my playing on PP.

It's probably a seemingly anonymous file stored somewhere on your PC which installs the trojan on startup, which is why it reappears even after you delete it. Have a look at which files are running on startup (click the start button, then Run --> msconfig --> startup tab) and disable any that look dodgy - you can google any suspicious file names.

if you are using windows go to their site. They have a one-off virus/trojan detection download you can take on its own which works when you boot up i think.
Its part of the update wares they offer for free.

Well, I turned off and restarted, ran MS antispyware and there was no trojan detected. I'll fuck around with PP for a while and then give it another spin.

Well I know hacked versions of poker tracker on bit torrent come with trojans. They talked about it on 2+2

And I also know party can see what other progs your running and what else your doing on your computer. It could be whatever they do with that is what its picking up and why it keeps coming back. Its how they know you run crap like poker edge and other things and to fight collussion. Do some research on 2+2 and youll probably find multiple discussions about your problem.

Thanks, all. I'll report back when I get to the bottom of this, as it might be something that will affect others here.

Its not a trojan. Its a file that party installs on your computer wit hthe same name as a known trojan.
Because Party is stupid.

To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

Thanks, Demi. That's what I thought, but I hadn't found the 2+2 thread.
