I want to see if I understand these correctly.
A deposit bonus, the site just wants you deposit more money and then play the required number of hands.
A reload bonus, you must have a zero balance, and the deposit more money and then play the required number of hands.
For how long does the have to be zero?
I play party/empire skins.
Thanks
in advance

Your balance does not have to be zero.

Deposit bonus - First time deposit only
Reload bonus - Occasional offer (it's been monthly) and you don't need a zero balance. With the Party skins, you can withdraw whatever you want to Neteller, for example, and then when it's cleared after a couple of hours, turn around and deposit it back and still get the reload.

Perhaps a "first" depost bonus? Yes, you deposit money, play hands, as well as other small rules that vary room to room.

Reload bonus means you are not a new customer, but you are making a deposit and so this is a type of 'deposit bonus', too. You don't have to be at zero.
When others talk about bonus extraction, the usual advice is to move your entire bankroll to Neteller, so it ready for the next reload bonus, or even multiple rooms' reload bonuses. The usual accompanying advice with the Party skins is that if you leave your account empty, they will offer you even more enticements to return and play, like a personal bonus offer, or free money, and the like. But you don't have to be at zero to get a reload offer.

party and empire are getting smart/evil about their reload bonuses. to put a damper on whoring, they will put a "restricted bonus" of free money ($10) into your account the same month they announce a reload bonus. so then you have to play 300 raked hands just to get rid of the stupid $10. only then are you able to start working off your reload bonus.
it's like putting those annoying speed humps on the road to slow you down.
