i was looking on www.thisisthenuts.com and i used their calculator to get an idea of how much $ i could receive a month. i put in 25NL, 500 hands per day, and picked a site with 30% rakeback and the result said they could pay me $228 monthly. this seems rather impossible. in my PT database i have 9700 hands logged of 25NL at Party. the total rake i've paid is $117. 500 (hands per day) x 30 (days in a month) = 15,000 hands. in order to receive $228 per month from 30% rakeback i would have to generate $760 in rake for the month. soooo how could they possibly make that estimation when it's impossible to generate $760 in rake after playing only 15,000 hands of 25NL?

If you're set-farming your VPIP is probably much lower than the average poker player. Those wacky hand calculators use stats for the average poker player, if you're a lot tighter than the average guy the numbers will be way off.

ah ha! so my rake is way lower because it's only the hands i play? lots of sites divide the rake evenly between all seated players thus increasing it. is this correct?
