Let me start by saying I'm fairly new at poker and that I have not deposited any money to Ultimate Bet. I also had no idea the site wasn't a 100% legit till I read about it here just now. I couldn't find anything poker related on internet as all search results sell something.
Here is my predicament and I hope someone can offer me some insight into what I am dealing with here.
A referral site was offering some free bankroll promotion on multiple well known sites. I figured it might be scam but as I had nothing to loose I went along with it. I randomly signed to UltimateBet. So a day later I actually get $25 credited to my UB account. I'll also mention that on the referral site there was a promise of $50 pending bonus to be cleared by playing and $50 more upon reaching 850 points (whatever those points are)
So there is my problem. I have no idea what to do now. I cant find any small print or anything much to read about it.
If It is a scam... well I have no money in it, and I can just go and waste those $25. I just don't see an angle. Unless it is some global fraud. When something is too good to be true it usually is.
Or are they are desperate for players with all that's going on?
If it were legit I would try to make it into a decent bankroll. But I'm worried about spending time to grinding it out and making them profit and then not being able to cash out for whatever reason.
Please, someone help me make some sense of all this.

I'm not aware of any withdrawal issues with UB. Most of those free cash offers require you to play a fair bit before you can withdraw it, but then again they let you withdraw any profits above that amount. Go ahead and play, I wouldnt worry.

UB gives me $10 to $25 every few months to try and get me back. The minimum withdraw is $50, so I just try to rack it up playing blackjack & cashout if I hit 50. That worked once.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer me guys. Looking some more into this I found the deal is I must play a total of 1500 raked hands before withdrawing.
How much is 1500 raked hands anyway in online poker anyway? Insanely high amount or not? How long should it take? Any recommendations on how to best clear it?
Does anyone where can I track the number of raked hands I played in the UB client?

I'm not sure about UB because I rarely play there, but at many sites a "raked hand" is defined as a hand in which you contribute to the pot and the rake taken is at least $0.25. That means the pot needs to be at least $5. With a bankroll of $25, you aren't even rolled for 2NL, so I suspect it will take you months to play 1,500 raked hands.
Do you have a time limit to clear it? One solution may be to deposit more so that you are properly rolled, and just grind it out. I wouldn't worry about putting money on the site. The problem with UB was cheating "superuser" accounts who could see other players' cards - as far as I know, they have never "played games" with players' funds, and given the size of the business and the damaged credibility already I highly doubt they would risk it. I have about $800 on there and have no fear of being ripped off.

There was no mention of a time period to clear it, I don't know. I've asked helpdesk about that and a few other unclear things. I hope they answer.
I don't plan on depositing any money in the near future. In fact I just withdrew my first deposit from another room. I'm having such horrible downswings and I can't stand to repeatedly loose against all odds. I don't believe in luck, curses, gods or whatever but I can make little sense of this.
I'm just a few $ down as I'm new and still play micro-limit games, but I've been playing for against such horrible players and really trying, learning from mistakes and reading about poker... I just don't know. It seems the better I get the more luck is kicking my ass. I don't think this game likes me very much.

Downswings happen to all of us. Thats why bankroll management is so important - you only put a very small proportion (<5%) of your total bankroll on the table at any one time, and move down in stakes if you lose too much.
If you can't handle the swings then maybe poker is not for you.

I understand the importance of bankroll management, but at these levels I thought I could win without it.
I actually still think I'm have as I realized I didn't lose only because of bad luck but i had a couple of bad plays as well.
Now I've been playing at ultimate bet for a few days and haven't lost once so we'll see what happens.
I found that a raked hand at UB is any hand in which a player contributes to the raked pot, so I think I won't have problems clearing 1500.
