I play with them off. I don't like most people avatars (especially all the uggo's and close ups on the eyes). Also stats overlay looks better with the avatars off.

I turn off all the eye avators and and anything satanic looking. Or with bleeding children. Some people just have no clue that their avator really isnt any good.

I leave them on, easier for me to relate/remember a picture more than a name.

Why do the one-eyed avatars bother you so?

I used to leave them off, and recently turned them back on.
It is easier for me to notice when a new player comes into an old player's seat while multitabling.
I don't pay much attention t owhat the avatars ARE, just if a fuzzy blue one turned into a pink and white one, the 70/20/1.0 stats on the screen aren't for that player.
To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

Anyone from FTR is left on so i can recognise them, for obvious reasons

I like them, apart from :

1> Pictures of people's hideous offspring. I always want to bust those guys.

2> The ones grabbed from that sunset picture you get with windows.

Option #3.
Turn off everything except my own avatar!

In all seriousness it gives me the impression that I am in charge and helps me to own the tables. well I used to do this but I had forgotten this. and I dont really play on stars anyway anymore so it really doesnt matter..

Almost every avatar there is either:

Their self
Their dog
Their kid
Their chick
Some other chick
Or that DAMN SUNSET THING!!!

The avatars of one eye make me want to intergalatically stab the guy over the Internet.. so I just turn them off instead.

kingnat is an unknown quantity at this point
I turn them all off... A while back I realized that I was ever so slightly paying more attention to those players with avatars than those without them.

Maybe it was just my imagination or maybe I'm a nancy for getting worried about it, but as soon as I realized that I was, in some small way, viewing players differently for that reason I shut them all off.

I want to focus purely on chips, position, stack sizes, etc. I don't mutlitable much so I am able to take fairly good notes as I play so I rely on that to recall players actions, betting tendencies, etc.

I'm surprised so many people leave them on....
So you click their picture and then you get their money?
