The Poker room bonuse seems really easy to clear and looks like fun site to play on. 40 percent free up to 200 dollars. 1400 player points to redeem the entire 200 AND you only need to be dealt cards, do not have to contribute to the pot. Seems pretty easy to me, just keep on folding and watch the points go up. but i see so many negative reviews about the site and the bonus takes forever to clear. Any experiences/reviews about pokerroom.com and their bonuses would be appreciated. THANKS!

One reason that it takes longer to clear than other places (aside form the player point format, which I don't like regardless of the site) is that the rake at PokerRoom is slightly less at the front end of the pot (altho slightly higher overall) than that of say, Party & Skins.
For example:
PokerRoom:
- LIMIT: $0.25-$0.50 to $0.50-$1
$0.05 is raked for every $1 in the pot up to a maximum of $1.50.
* Takes a pot of at least $10 to earn 1/2 Player Point ($0.50 rake) and at least $20 to earn 1 Player Point ($1 rake)
- LIMIT: $1-$2
$0.25 is raked for every $5 in the pot up to a maximum of $1.50.
* Takes a pot of at least $10 to earn 1/2 Player Point ($0.50 rake) and at least $20 to earn 1 Player Point ($1 rake)
- NL/PL: $0.25-$0.50 to $0.50-$1
$0.05 is raked for every $1 in the pot up to the max rake (see below).
Number of players: 2-3 Max rake: $1
Number of players: 4-5 Max rake: $2
Number of players: 6-10 Max rake: $3
* Takes a pot of at least $10 to earn 1/2 Player Point ($0.50 rake) and at least $20 to earn 1 Player Point ($1 rake)
- NL/PL: $1-$2 to $2-$4
$0.25 is raked for every $5 in the pot up to the max rake (see below).
Number of players: 2-3 Max rake: $1
Number of players: 4-5 Max rake: $2
Number of players: 6-10 Max rake: $3
* Takes a pot of at least $10 to earn 1/2 Player Point ($0.50 rake) and at least $20 to earn 1 Player Point ($1 rake)
Party Poker & Skins:
It appears that Party & Skins make no differentiation in their rake structure between Limit and NL/PL games. At least none that I could find on their website.
- $0.50-$1 and $1-$2
Number of players: 2-10
Pot Size: $2 Rake: $0.10
Pot Size: $5 Rake: $0.50
Pot Size: $12 Rake: $0.75
Pot Size: $20 Rake: $1
So, as you can see, at PokerRoom, for stakes up to $1-$2, it takes more money in the pot to get to that magical $0.50 rake where you start to earn player points. This makes playing at the $0.50-$1 tables (especially if you are playing Limit) very tedious to earn Player Points in order to clear the bonus.
I have been 2-tabling there to clear the bonus. I am playing either two $1-$2 NL tables, or one $1-$2 NL table and one $2-$4 Limit table. Doing this I am earning almost 2 Player Points for every 5 hands played. This comes out to close to 40%. Not even close to the 70-75% of total hands that end up being raked on the Party & Skins sites.
So, it's a slow-go. However, I must be in the minority because I do not mind the PokerRoom setup at all. It took a little getting used to but I do like it. Although, I will concede that they could brighten things up a bit.
Anyway, I hope this helps to understand why it's a slow-go to clear the PokerRoom bonuses.

Just a few words of advice so you know what you are getting into.
You have to play at least the 1/2 to clear this bonus, you'll never clear it playing anything below. 2/4 is actually preferred because it might take you about 4000 hands to clear it playing the 1/2.
The games there are definitely beatable, sometimes even the 1/2 tables get really tight but you always can find some nice juicy tables there.

Thanks ... been lurking for a while.
Just to clarify, I was talking about limit hold'em above. I can't comment on the clearance rates for NL.

PokerRoom has by far the hardest bonus to clear of any site I've played on.
You have to play 3/6 or higher to avoid it taking FOREVER.
Playing 25NL (blinds .25/.5), 400 points took me 30 hours three tabling.
I would not recommend whoring this site at all if you play below 3/6 or 100NL.
