Post subject: Poker stars Security/Bot Question in chat

Anybody ever had this happen?
Within the chat at PS you have to type some random word in the chat. Supposedly detects bots. You have 100 seconds to enter it.

What if you have chat off? I'm guessing you still see it since you can still see admin chat. But wtf? What about the mass-tabling monkeys playing 24 tables? How the hell do they see it? I've never seen this FWIW.

This is a fantastic idea and make me think that Poker Stars is at least trying to fight a problem that is very much real at the microstakes ring games where the same people just put bots in and let them grind all day. I wish other sites (cough cough UB) would do this because some of us are trying to learn the game and cant afford to play high level ring games, but the microstake levels are bot fested, put it this way, when the same 90% of the table fold everytime youre the big blind so all you could possibly make is .01 profit because the real bet cant be determined does nothing to help the game. And also (I dont know how to phrase this right) but if all you got to do when youre sure the room is all bots is bet above the +EV level or odds level and everyone folds and youre holding nothing, something is very wrong and how does this help anyone learn poker. Once I do the human test and talk to everyone and find out whose real or not, if no one talks and I can bet all in on 24 or 73 or 85 and make everyone fold over and over unless the PPL programming tells the bot to bet then I know to get out. Im 100 in favor of this since some of us microstakers are just learning the game and how to bet right and stuff not just grinding out 12 hours a day (with 2 minute bathroom breaks programmed in and so on) to get rake money
