I read an official-sounding statement from Party on 2+2 saying that US accounts will stay open after the president signs the bill (but US players won't be able to play real money games) and that Party Points will NOT expire after 60 days of inactivity as they do now. Apparently Party might come up with ways for US players to earn more Party Points without playing real money games? (Which sounds SO exciting.) I'd point you to the 2+2 thread, but their server is down right now. Just look in the first couple of pages in the Internet Gambling forum there.

I burned all my points on PP - there wasnt' even anything I wanted, so I wound up buying a bunch of stuff for my friends. (I would have gotten some PS2 games too, but all the sports titles are '06, *sigh*) As unethical as it might be, I don't see any reason for PP to keep open U.S. accounts after they announced they are getting rid of play money access for them. I also don't see (for example) any reason why they would allow U.S. accounts access to play money if there is no chance those players will sign up for real money.

Now, important caveat - I am not saying that PP WILL do this, simply that the lack of reason for them not to do this is incentive for me to just cash out and forget about it.

Sounds Awesome!

What would be even better is for a US player that's used to playing 25-100NL can get into say, a $25 freeroll, spend 5 hours fighting thru 2000+ opponents and make it to the final table...
Then when 6th goes bust a window pops up saying...

PSYCHE!!!!

...Gee, Thanks
