After the recent security issues I realised mine was really bad, so have been through updating all my anti-virus/anti-spyware/firewall/etc, and then moved onto my poker accts. I used one password for all my sites (4 so far). Obviously a bad thing, so I started going through changing them all but when I got to Pacific Poker I couldnt find an option anywhere. Eventually I contacted their online support:

Me: Hi, I'm just wondering how I change my password?
Shaundell1: Welcome to Chat! My name is Shaundell and I shall be assisting you today.
Shaundell1: I have located your account. Before we proceed, please confirm the first 2 characters of your password.
Me: **
Shaundell1: One moment please...
Shaundell1: Thank you Ben.
Shaundell1: Why would you like to change your password?
Me: I'd like to change it to a more secure one
Shaundell1: You are unable to change your password as these passwords are all randomly generated.
Me: no its not, its one I entered atm.
Shaundell1: ATM? Please explain.
Me: My password at the moment is one I entered
Shaundell1: Ok, to have it changed, you will need to send an email to support@pacificpoker.com with the following information: Full name, full address registered here at 888 along with reason for your request so that we can change the password.
Me: ok.

For starters its not randomnly generated, thats the whole point its one I entered when I started up, and secondly...needing to email my new password and all my info to them?
Needing a reason to change my password?
This is all a bit crazy and definately discouraging from a confidence level. I think I'll be moving my money out very soon.

It also just occurred to me that my password mustnt be encrypted on their system if they can verify the first two characters of it. Thats shocking.

Back when I joined they were randomly generated. You had no say in what it was. They may have just changed this and the support person is not aware of it.

I recently emailed about a very old pacific poker account because I couldn't remember my password. They asked me to verify some stuff, and then sent me my actual password. I remembered it when I saw it again. I didn't use the same email address or anything. kinda scary all that. good thing I have no money on there.
