This is a post from another poker forum. They took away his bonus points, wtf?

It makes me sick that I have spent so much time on this forum defending Pacific Poker, telling people that the site doesn't suck and it's a good place to start playing. As you will see I will no longer be a proponent of Pacific Poker.

Here's what you get if you win too much money at Pacific Poker:

Dear Richard,

This is Russell M. from the Operations Department at Cassava (Gibraltar) Ltd.
Cassava (Gibraltar) Ltd operates "Pacific Poker".

I am contacting you in regards to your Pacific Poker account with username "ddudley".

Our bonus point's scheme in Pacific Poker is a great benefit that we are happy to present to our members. This scheme is not targeted towards expert poker players but rather to help the average player overcome losing streaks.

Please notice that our Bonus Policy states that we reserve the right at our sole discretion, to deny any bonus or promotion, or rescind any policy in respect of that user, either temporarily or permanently. Since you are a very successful poker player (as can be seen from your total winnings), we have decided to stop bonus points from being added to your account.

The current bonus points that you have in your account, can be converted to money and placed into your bankroll until the 12th of June 2005. From this date onwards, although your points will keep accumulating, you will not be able to convert them.

Please note that this by no means will hurt any of your other privileges as a successful player on our site - we congratulate you on all your winnings and we hope to see you continue to prosper in our poker community.

Regards,

Russell M.

When I complained about this not being fair and basically told them I would move to another site if it wasn't fixed, they responded with this...

Hello Richard,

This is John from the Operations Department at Cassava Enterprises
(Gibraltar) Ltd. I am writing in response to your e-mail.

I can understand that you will be disappointed with our decision to
revoke the privileges concerning your bonus points. Please understand
that this decision has been made by our Managers, and is a business
decision that will not be rescinded. The amounts involved do pale in
comparison to the amount that you have profited from our site. For every
ten dollars that you wager, you receive one bonus point. One hundred
bonus points can be converted back to one dollar. Therefore one point
equates to one cent. For every dollar that you wager on our tables, a
tenth of one cent of this dollar could be converted to real money.

We offer this bonus conversion facility as a helper for our less
successful players. It is a psychological safety net, whereby if they
lose a dollar they are not losing everything, and can convert these
points back to bankroll funds. However it is not the case that you need
this extra incentive to continue with our site, and so we have decided
to remove this privilege from your account.

Please note that as we consider the matter closed further correspondence
regarding this issue will not be entered into. We do acknowledge that
you are a very active member on our site and hope that you can choose to
remain so under these new conditions.

Kind Regards,
John
Operations Department,
Cassava Enterprises (Gibraltar) Ltd

"Because you are good and most other players suck, we are going to discriminate against your ass and fuck you over. Don't bitch any more 'cause we aren't listening. We still expect you to help us generate the rake, however. Have a nice day."

Business decision eh? This guy is generating rake for them of which he gets a very small percentage back in the form of points. Seems like bad business practice to me. People who make 'management decisions' like this don't have any business being involved in any type of business venture. Anybody who knows anything about business knows you keep your best customers happy. This is even more true in the gaming industry.
