I've played in casinos for years and have been playing online for about a month. I find the randomness of the online shuffle not so random. I think it is more obvious on poker stars. For example:
i have ace of hearts and 3 hearts hit board.99.9% of the time the 4th heart will hit.
it seems like everyone at final table gets great starting hands online.
person with most money usually will win an all-in. I have seen this so much. It could be 3-5 against AK. and flop will be 3-A-5.
And lastly if you have a terrible starting hand say 6-2....you fold and it hits this happens an awful lot. Much more than at casino.
is it because they are computer programs with hands and flops already programmed. I dont think the sites do this on purpose i just think that they dont have a totally random shuffle. I read an article about this some math guys analyzed the shuffle on AP and found if they found the seed they knew what cards were coming. they notified absolute and they changed it. i dont find these points i talked about on any sites as much as poker stars but i also play on poker stars alot more.
What are your thoughts????? thanks ...paige

Yea, for someone new and posting on a forum where many people make there living, including on pokerstars you may want to start rethinking about posting around here. You have so far been offended by something said by someone whom you will never meet or deal with and now come here spewing about rigged sites without any playing experience and probably a minimal sample of play. I would pretty much just try another hobby or spend more time reading before trying to get your feet wet. Try to keep in mind, poker is very serious business to people who play fro real money.

jyms- I stated that these were just my thoughts after playing a month online. I have played at casinos for years and I am finding online poker very different. I too make my money playing poker so I am not trying to offend anyone. Perhaps when I get more online play under my belt I will change my mind. I don't think it favors anyone person or that anything is intentional. I just don't think its the same as a real deck of cards. I don't think it's bad enough not to play online I think its something you have to figure into your game play. I've placed 2nd twice and have points on leader board with my minimal play this past month. I'm not a novice,I just think things are odd especially at final tables. I didn't mean to get you all worked up I just wanted opinions and you gave me yours so I thank you for the reply. Good Luck. Love and Peace...Paige

I agree. things like getting the same two cards in 2 hands in a row happened to me more than 4 times in few hundred hands, or getting nothing but hearts 6 or 7 hands in a row! The odds for this to happen in live play are rare. I don“t think the poker room does it on purpose, but for sure there is a lack of full randomness in the soft.

have you considered the difference between online and live play. online you can multitable and each hand can go through quicker. Net effect you get exposed to an awful lot more hands in a short period of time. A live bad beat turns into a series of online bad beats experienced in the same timeframe ---> omg the online is rigged.

OP: how many hands have you played online? if you dont know, then could you guess at how many tables you play on average and how many hours per month you play?
Because all of you're claims can be easily shown to be false given a large enough sample of hands, and i suspect, as jyms does, that you dont have a large enough sample.

if any of these sites 'aren't right', PokerStars is the very least likely one to be out of line.
it's not rigged, many people are making a living playing online poker. if you're losing, you're a losing player, it's not the site.

Funny thing I always think of when I see these kinds of questions;
Before the internet came along, many poker players called the live games "rigged" or blamed specific dealers for their losses. Some players even sat out when specific dealers came to deal (like the one dealer really worked on giving them bad hands). Some even cursed the dealers or worse.
When the internet came along I'm pretty sure all these same players finally were on to something

Do you really think any of us would keep playing if there was any evidence at all of what you are suggesting? Its very easy to analyse the hundreds of thousands of recorded hands from anyones database. Noone has ever done this and found any statistically significant anomaly (apart from one very well publicised incident at AP/UB a couple of years ago).
How many hands have you played online?

I totally agree with Page..|I also play casino and on line, and the amount of bad bets outpace the real game.
I also noticed the advantage of the big stack chips againts any small stack, no matter what poor hand he has at the start, the large stak wins over an ove again.\I mostly play free roll , won a few and made money playing tables, loosing all in a full house that i floped aa222( i was playing A2) and call al in , one caller was playing A 8.....it was for 40 dollars, and he was very agresive going almos all in in many hands, of course he call and the supoused to be random cards give hin runer runer 8 ............
I can go on and on, that is why I only play freerolls and if I cash in something I play tables......I do not want to insert 1 cent of my bank roll on line.
best regards
alex
