3 pairs should be a hand is on a distinguished road
Hi guys, I usually only go to the sng forum as that's what I play but 2 day I thought I'd have a bit more of a look see.

I just finished reading that thread on Party Poker being rigged. Some of it is brilliant, genius even and no I'm not referring to the conspiracy theorists.

But honestly when I saw the 5xA's hand and subsequent comments I almost fell off my chair, like wow. I had A10 2 others had A6 and then an A on the turn. I'm stilll laughing now.

Not so long ago I was HU in a 90man ko on FT.

ME 10 10
Vill A3

Flop 7 3 10
Turn A
River A.

I'm not jumping up n down crying bad beat and do you know why? Because it wasn't. And do you know why? Because we were all in preflop.

Now let's say I was BB and shoved the flop and was called. Well then vil will beat me like 2% of the time and yeah that IS a bad beat.

Some of the comments about bad beat this bad beat that, well they weren't. When I was new to the game I used to think many lost AIs were bad beats.

But when you realise the worst starting hand in texas will beat the best 32% of the time ie AA v 72 you also realise what constitutes a bad beat is under a much tighter definition than that which I read just now.

I'll take one example the 5xA hand. Mr A10 groaner - why was he even in the hand in the first place? Maybe 2 answers are reasonable. 1 a complete to limps with the odds from sb or 2. a check from bb to see a free flop. (to explain in anymore detail would take too much space).

Now I don't want to reignite discussion about online poker being rigged but, honestly the definitions of bad beat I've seen need rewriting. eg If ur opponent gets there because you allowed him to from your bad play don't cry bad beat.

Just as I didn't in the example above - I just sat back and said "wow, that just cost me $40." (have another look post flop had to be 1. 3 3 or 2. A A.

Huh? 72 is 32% to win vs AA? You might want to take a closer look at that one. Pretty sure it's closer to 12/88
