It seems possible. Don't think it used to be.
Feel free to move to appropriate forum - thought it belonged in a generic one (though this one may be a tad too generic)

Ah overlooked this forum sorry.
What I meant was - having played on Stars with PT3 running I seemed to remember it only picking up hands where I was dealt in.
Furthermore I seemed to remember the occasional forum post here and there indicating that while datamining worked on FTP, PokerStars was not open for data mining.
When I happened to log into Stars and noticed PT3 picking up hands that I wasn't playing I thought something had changed for sure - and data mining on PokerStars was now possible. I posted a brief mention here of exactly that as I figured this would be of interest if anyone uses data mining.
Since people seem a bit confused at what I'm talking about I spent a little more time researching now, and it seems as if data mining may have been technically possible on PokerStars before but against the Terms of Service. I guess nothing has really changed there - still against the Terms of Service.
I have no idea how I could have overlooked PT3 picking up hands I didn't play if this is not new, but I guess that's what happened. Should be safe to ignore all of the above.

From what I understand, Pokeroffice used to do this as well. Stars forbids datamining, but I think they have a gray area around watching a few hands before sitting. I'm not sure if PT3 does this because I use HM, but if it does I am sure it fits within stars rules.
Anyone?

It's not allowed (as far as I know it's been agasinst their ToS for a while now), so I advise you do not knowingly and purposely datamine on PokerStars.

Latest incarnation of PT3 will track up to 30 hands before you sit down, to allow you to table select better.
This has been OK'd with PS support and doesn't offend their no-datamining policy.

You can pay for a mining service, if you really wanted to mine

This is what I have heard as well. I wasn't sure of the hand amount but table selection is key to it being allowed, not unlimited hands.

But this is not strictly allowed and again it must be advised that this isn't practiced by anyone.
