I play regularly at my local casino/cardroom in Seattle so have plenty of poker experience. However I've just created an account on Party Poker (which from the feedback I'm reading is not a good decision, since I've just created another account with Full Tilt). My main question, I just read on some blog that people have software to where they can see the actually folded cards? Is this shit true? I also saw a post where a guy was saying he has the ability to throw a hand away and be replaced by another? If so I'll never touch online poker. Is cheating just rampant on these tourneys?

Thanks for your expertise.

P.S - I just qualified for the monthly guarenteed million @ Party Poker on July 30th ($600 + 40 buy-in for free!) Hope to see some of you there.

It's rigged.

I've lost thousands and thousands of dollars, all cause it's rigged. The poker rooms steal my money. Players reach across the table and take my chips. But I wised up, and now I'm not losing as much. I'd invest in an "online poker shotgun". That'll keep the assholes from taking your chips. Also invest in an "online poker aluminum foil hat". That way the other players can't see your cards on their screen.

It's wild out there. Gotta be prepared.
Light years ahead of the competition.

Hey doubledown, just about all the visitors here play online poker, and none of us would if we thought there was rampant cheating going on. If you post links to those articles/websites that make those outrageous claims, then maybe we can address those for you.

Regarding seeing the folded cards, you may be referring to this specific scenario - it's possible through the standard hand history feature of PartyPoker to see your opponent's mucked cards only when it's heads up and goes down to showdown (here's another thread about this standard feature: http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=436 ).

Regarding throwing a hand away and have it replaced by another - that's funny - never heard of that one.

The only possible way of cheating I am aware of is collusion (players sharing cards ie - over the telephone) and the poker rooms work very hard at catching this. Of course you can collect stat's on players and use that against them, but I don't consider that cheating.

Remember this a multi-billion dollar industry with hundreds of thousands of players - if there was rampant cheating, fixed cards, rigged games, etc, etc, etc, then this industry would not even exist - there would be no players, investors, IPO's, etc.

Word. Make sure that it's shiny-side out before you buy, though. When I got my first one, that sh*t was shiny-side IN. Now how's THAT supposed to help me!?? :P

If online poker is rigged...............

Then why dont i get good cards? you get about 60 hands an hour on online poker compared to about 20 in a real casino......

So your getting to see 3 to 1 the more hands...........

you got 10-9 people seeing the flop compared to about 3 or 4 at a B&M casino....

So according to my calculations There are going to be alot more people drawing to the nuts in online poker compared to a B&M Casino. Now all people talk about is how it is rigged, but they never talk about the times when there A-A didnt get cracked by a drawing hand. and beleive me i win alot more with pocket K's and A's then i do when im drawing to the nuts.
