Hey guys,
Ive been playing poker (NL holdem) for about two years but have never played online for real money. Im interested in starting up but to be honest im a bit intimitated by the number of rooms, rakebacks, bonus whoring and all this other stuff I keep hearing about.
If I do play Ill probably only deposit somewhere around $100 and I am definitely looking to win (Im not great but I see myself as an above average player).
Ive got all the books read all the strategies but I cant decide which room to join and how to start of with the best possible chance of success.

Firstly can someone clear up bonus whoring and rakebacks is this really what I think it is just poker sites basically giving away money. If so which site would be the best to join, how many should I join and how can I take the most out of these offers.

Secondly whats the best site for a newcomer to join who wants to start at penny poker and eventually make his way to $25 to $50 NL. Basically Im looking for fish as my number one priority but also a place where I can develop my skills before I start playing for more than a couple cents.

Thirdly is it best to deposit money through neteller or directly through the online site?

Any other helpful tips as to where to go and how to take advantage of other offers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve.

Start at PokerStars for pennies. There's no 'special deals' to mess up. The level of play is decent and the customer service is excellent. You can mess with bonuses once you've rolled up a couple hundred and are ready to play for dimes.
I'm a know-it-all.

No, really.

EasyT is on a distinguished road
Get Neteller. It's the easiest way to move money in order to take advantage of promotional offers when something awesome arrives.

BEFORE you sign at any site, shop around for special deals....rakeback or whatever. Just know that people will pay you (in one form or another) for your signup.

The online poker marketshare is dominated by Party, and second is Stars. Paradise is up there, too. I say this to state that if online poker sees a downturn, these are the sites most likely to survive....where you may be coming back to permanantly. So get rakeback now when you signup...even though it won't payout anything worthwhile anytime soon.
