I've decided that I need a Neteller account or suchlike to manage my bankroll on various poker sites. I've had a look on the Neteller site and it seems that it will be quite straigthforward to open a Neteller account, withdraw funds from the account, and deposit funds into the account. However, I can't find anywhere where is says how much I will be charged for the service. Bearing in mind that I live in the UK, I also need to know if the conversion rate from/to dollars is acceptable.
Is there anyone in the UK who can offer advice from experience?
Or does anyone know any reliable alternatives?

It's 2 quid / scones for them to issue you with a cheque.

A lot of websites are catering for us Brits now, Stars do cheques, empire pay back to your switch.

Thanks for your help, but...
You say that Neteller issue a cheque. Do they not transfer the money straight to your bank account?
I didn't know that Empire pay back to your card, excellent! Do you know what they do on Party? It's just that I'm going to play the two sites as recommended.

I think it's a fairly new thing on Empire, so they may do it on Party too (I ain't been there for a while). It's only Switch/Solo they transfer to tho.

Neteller can transfer to your bank, but it costs more. Cheque comes in a few days anyway

I got spanked when I cashed out from Empire as it was in US$ and not good ole scones.

Neteller cheques arrive in around 3-4 days but they take 7 days to clear I think, I now transfer to Neteller (which I keep in scones) and cash out from there.
Poker is all about the long long long long long long long term . . .

This may be missing the point, but if you put money into Neteller, then leave it there. It is yur poker stash, you can transfer between sites at will, and with the dollar riding so high, you can build up until the exchange rate is back down to the £1=$1.50 mark again, so you make money there in excess of any bank interest rate too.

Toasty's and my Neteller accounts are in sterling, so any build up in neteller will be in sterling and we will get no FX gains/losses there. The time we are affected is when we receive money from a poker site - as that's where the FX occurs.

Thanks for all your advice.
I have gone for Fatshaft's idea - I have opened a Neteller account in dollars which will be my bankroll from now on.
Is six months' time I will transfer the thousands of dollars accumulated there into my account.
Yeah, dream on.
