i've been playing at WSEX for the first time starting this july...and i've found it interesting to say the least.
i'd tell you my opinion but i would probably get razzed by everyone, who here has checked out WSEX and played there and what do you think about it. I mean it is one hundred percent rake back so it ought to be the complete nuts right?

Spam is more of a concern from people that haven't been around very long.
I would be interested in a a more detailed review of the room.

Shorthanded table selection is sparse. When I view the other tables everyone buys in with half stacks for some reason. If those situations improved, I would play there.

I downloaded the software and checked it out abit.. but eh, I don't think I would ever have a serious roll there.
Basically, people who care about 100% rakeback are good serious players... so it will attract good serious players. Fish don't care about rakeback, they just want a place where they can find a full table all the time.. Stars or Party for them.
I think the money you would save with 100% rakeback isn't as much as you would think considering the better players there. I've never actually tried the real money tables, but I have watched them and it seems pretty nitty. My assumption is that I was making more with 25% rakeback and tons of fish at Party rather than moving there with 100% rakeback, better players, and less full tables.
But maybe I'm wrong? I'd also like to read a review.

As a limit player, I will say this...The games are tougher than at Party(I've played 2/4 - 5/10), the software is worse than at party, and the play goes a bit slower than Party. With that in mind though, I am still playing there because all I have to do to equal my $/hour at party poker is to play breakeven poker at WPEX before the rakeback.

I assumed mostly rocks would migrate there, but if so many people buy in short (which seemed like way more than party if you can believe it) they suck. I think they are getting a good mix of gamblers. I deposited but didn't play any hands. But I logged on about 5-6 times around the times I play and that's what I noticed. I'm still tempted though. You can only play 3 tables max as well.

Yes that was one other thing I forgot to mention that I didn't like. 3 tables is uber slow... I guess you could play like 5 at party and 3 there or something?
Plus I heard the software is total crap.. I heard they even had crashes during mid-day multiple times and such.
If I was a limit player maybe I would be more incline to head over and check it out... but I'm a nl nub trying to learn limit.

No PLO I've emailed them a few times saying they need to add PL Omaha to attract all the euros

Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

well here is basically what i think about it. the games might be a bit tougher than other places, but i dont really know. i dont usually play full ring and i dont usually play 100nl...but that is mainly what i have been playing. also a little bit of 50 nl. I have had an amazing numer of bad beats at wsex...and all i can say is that means people are chasing. especially true w/ flush draws at 50 nl, people often call my 2/3 bets on the turn to catch a flush, and i guess i can't blame them considering they always hit (lame). the worst hand was when a lady hit runner runner gutshot against me at 100nl when i had raised pf, bet 2/3 flop and 2/3 turn. even worse, her hand was suited in hearts and there was only a spade flush draw on the board. So basically what i am saying is there are certainly donks playing at wsx, and there are definately some gamblers out there. a memorable hand for me was a guy who check raised me on the flop and the turn, after i had bet nearly the pot on both streets. the river went check check and i was shocked to see he had k-9 on a board of 8-Q-7-j-K.
on the other hand, you will see a lot of regulars and many of them are fairly decent. A very popular play at the 100nl table is to raise big in the blinds after a lot of limpers.
table selection...uhm what table selection??
6-max...what 6-max???
want to play 4 tables at once...too bad.
one intersting note is that you do not have to contribute to the pot in order to collect rake...the rake you receive for each hand dealt is simply total rake/number of players dealt cards.
after a week at wsex i am down 60 dollars...but i have received 140 dollars in rake back so i did make some money, and like i said i took a lot of bad beats. i think long term poker at wsex could be quite profitable...but i will still be finishing out my month at sunpoker. i may try another week long run at wsex next month. if they can add 6max and make multitabling possible...and bump up the number of newbies who are coming to the table...i think wsex could one day be a great place to play. unfortunately at this moment i do not think wsex will in anyway revolutionize online poker or force other poker rooms to lower their rake.

as a side note...i offer this second hand information. some dude who supposedly had spent a decent amount of time at 400nl was hanging around at the 100nl table and made mention of a couple of "dutchmen" who frequented the 400nl stakes...supposedly they were winning a lot of money and this guy seemed convinced they were instant messaging each other...i have no reason to believe this is true or false...just throwing it out there in case you considered playing those limits.
