Being a night owl, I've played Party Poker a few times after ~10-11PM PST.
The play gets a lot less fishy at the lower limits. Tables where 5+ players see most flops get thinner and higher limit players will move down to lower limits. I've also seen some of the most amazing players at those times. Although not profitable to my bankroll, the payoff towards my growth as a player is worth it sometimes. A few stories...
One table turned into a poker clinic. Lots of candid talks about hands afterwards, droping tips, etc. Great time.
A couple times I ran into amazingly strong loose players (probably on the rush too) that would play around 60-40% of their hands particuarly in late position. The first time I ran into one of these beasts he was quite a chatty guy. Could put me on an exact hand around the river or turn on just about every hand I played against him and was kind enough to share that with me. I learned a lot that night about the importance of playing your opponents hand as well as yours.
The second time was against a lady that was cleaning up the table (quickly built up to a $150 stack at a $25 table.) I was more experienced that time and took a seat with immediate position on her when I got the chance. She drown me once on the river, then I took her down on a pot. I guess she noticed that and my seat change, since when I went over the top on a pre-flop raise of hers (I think I had 10s) she called me with rags which put me even with her for the night.
Interesting experiences...
